  • Patent number: 9765784
Abstract: An Oldham coupling structure for a scroll compressor decreases Oldham coupling pressure loading without increasing compressor diameter or significantly increasing orbiting scroll or Oldham coupling inertia. The Oldham coupling key height and area are increased by recessing the key face into the ring portion of the Oldham coupling, increasing the key height and adding pads to the involute side of the orbiting scroll base plate to extend the key slot, potentially resulting in reduced compressor diameter and/or reduced orbiting scroll and Oldham coupling inertia.

  • Patent number: 9764912
Abstract: A removable media tray with an adjustable rear tray extension operable by a rear media restraint. The tray extension is slidably attached to a front section of the tray via a cam having a locking arm engaged in a J-slot. When in the curved portion of the J-slot the front section and tray extension are locked together. A rear media restraint slidably latching to a track in the bottom of the tray has a locking lobe that engages with a locking notch on the cam. As the media restraint is slid toward the rear, the locking lobe initially rotates the cam moving the locking arm to the straight section of the J-slot, then the locking lobe engages with the locking notch, locking the media restraint to the tray extension. Thereafter, the media restraint and tray extension move together until the end of the J-slot is reached by the locking arm.

  • Patent number: 9764904
Abstract: A product selection and grouping system for the metering, selection, grouping and accumulation of varying size and/or configuration products into packs for packing in a substantially continuous motion operation is provided. The product selection and grouping system includes a metering station that receives the products in a substantially continuous line of flow from a product infeed, and meters the line of products to selectively form a series of spaces therebetween. The metered products are formed and fed to a product grouping conveyor in groups of sets a selected number of products, and are engaged by laning flights of a laning unit, which transfer the product groups to selected ones of a series of lanes defined along the product grouping conveyor. The groups of products are accumulated for transfer to a downstream packing machine.

  • Patent number: 9764425
Abstract: A tool for forming a shaped product has a support body that is fabricated from a first material, such as for instance cast iron. The first material defines a first portion of a forming surface of the tool and has a feature supported thereon. The feature has a layer of a second material that is supported on the first material of the support body, a layer of a third material that is supported on the layer of the second material and a layer of a fourth material that is supported on the layer of the third material. The layer of the fourth material, such as for instance a tool steel alloy, defines a second portion of the forming surface of the tool. During use the first portion of the forming surface and the second portion of the forming surface cooperate to form a desired shape of the shaped product.

  • Patent number: 9766071
Abstract: Waveguide includes fork with first and second bifurcated ends coupled to loop section and separated by angle determined based on velocities of portions of quantum mechanical wavefunction of atoms traveling above waveguide. Waveguide propagates blue-detuned laser having first evanescent field that repels atoms away from waveguide and red-detuned laser having second evanescent field that attracts atoms toward waveguide, together creating potential minimum/well. Laser cooling atoms, causing atoms positioned in potential minimum/well to move toward first fork section following potential minimum/well. Atomic state initialization section initializes atomic states of atoms to known ground-state configuration.

  • Patent number: 9765687
Abstract: A turbocharger includes a variable turbine nozzle formed between first and second walls. A variable-vane assembly has a fixed nozzle ring and a plurality of circumferentially spaced vanes disposed in the nozzle and rotatably mounted on the nozzle ring such that the vanes are pivotable. The nozzle ring defines the first wall of the turbine nozzle, each vane having a first end adjacent the first wall and a second end adjacent the second wall. The second wall of the turbine nozzle is formed by a gas pressure-responsive member that is arranged to be axially movable relative to the vanes. A first stop is positioned so that the gas pressure-responsive member is urged against the first stop by a differential gas pressure exerted on the gas pressure-responsive member so that there is a non-zero first value for a clearance between the second ends of the vanes and the second wall of the turbine nozzle.
