  • Patent number: 4552427
Abstract: A self-locking connector is disclosed in which locking of the mating halves of the connector is achieved near or at complete mating of the connector. The locking mechanism comprises a cylindrical locking ring mounted in front of a detent ring which rotates with the coupling nut of the connector. The locking ring is formed with circumferentially extending slots providing narrow strips which are axially resilient. The strips carry locking tabs which are engageable with recesses in the detent ring.

  • Patent number: 4551875
Abstract: A combination tool having a central shaft which may be rotated by a power tool. The shaft has a drill bit mounted in its front end so that rotation of the shaft causes rotation of the bit. The shaft is fitted in the bore of a sleeve or tube, the tube having a nut driver socket head at its front end. By advancing the tube on the shaft, complementary flats on the shaft and in the rear of the tube are mated to couple the shaft to the tube in a driving relation. The tube may be advanced to recess the drill bit within the tube to free the socket for use in a socket driving tool.

  • Patent number: 4551837
Abstract: The high speed operational recurring signature evaluation provides digital sub-systems including a data compressor and a controller. These subsystems are employed with a portable service processor (PSP) which is a standard piece of test equipment in this art. The controller interfaces with the host logic tester (PSP) to provide the repetitious detail and complex digital control requirements for programming the data compressor in response to digital instructions received from the logic tester. A unique serial data pattern corresponding to a proper signature from a node under test generated in real time at the relatively high operating speed of the board under test is generated by the data compressor.

  • Patent number: 4546428
Abstract: There is disclosed a horizontal transversal multiplexer which operates and controls an associative array. The associative array consists of a plurality of processor cells which are arranged in an N X M matrix. The transversal horizontal multiplexer constitutes apparatus which allows great flexibility concerning data flow through the processor cells. The multiplexer includes means for transferring data in a right or a left direction from cell to cell and further includes means for bypassing any cell to increase the flexibility of the associative array. The multiplexer has four signal nodes each providing a single bit path and has control inputs with a left signal node connected to the right signal input of a left neighboring processor cell and with the right signal node connected to the left signal input of a right neighboring processor cell in said array. One of the nodes constitute a data input node and the other node is a data output node.

  • Patent number: 4544224
Abstract: A self-locking electrical connector is disclosed in which a locking ring is mounted in an annular groove in the interior of a coupling nut on the plug of the connector. When the plug is mated with the receptacle, inwardly extending projections on the locking ring ride up over a low-angle ramp on the shell of the receptacle and then snap into a locking groove formed in the receptacle shell behind the ramp to lock the connector members together. The surface of the locking groove next to the low-angle ramp is formed as a high-angle ramp which allows removal of the projections of the ring from the groove when the coupling nut is rotated with high torque to unthread from the shell. In an alternative embodiment, the locking ring is carried by the receptacle shell, and the locking groove and angular ramps are formed on the inner surface of the coupling nut.

  • Patent number: 4538269
Abstract: A coding and decoding arrangement situated between and connected to digital and analog telecommunication lines includes a plurality of signal processing components which are arranged in respective receive and transmit paths and which process incoming digital signals and convert them into analog signals, and convert outgoing analog signals into digital signals and process the latter. A plurality of multiplexers is provided, each arranged ahead of one of the components in the respective receive and transmit path, and having respective test paths connected thereto. The multiplexers can be switched by control signals such as to selectively form test routes through the arrangement, each test route including a different combination of the components, so that testing signals can be sent through such components via the test routes for testing the performances of such components.

  • Patent number: 4536855
Abstract: An improved circuit for performing high speed arithmetic computations is described, and includes a mechanism for dynamically deleting faulty data bits in a configuration for minimizing propagation delay paths. The invention is particularly applicable to an associative processor wherein the data word length and rate of flow of data may vary from one instruction to the next. In accordance with the invention, data propagation delay time is minimized as is the number of required circuit interconnections, thereby making the invention easily manufacturable on an LSI chip. The advantages of the circuit design are multiplied in an associative processor, since such processors are highly reconfigurable and must be able to exclude unwanted bits from an arithmetic operation, to change data word sizes and to delete failed bits.

  • Patent number: 4533198
Abstract: An insulation displacement connector is disclosed which is particularly adapted for use with flat cable having closely spaced conductors. The termination end of each contact in the connector is formed by slitting the contact body and then offsetting the arms formed by the slit in opposite directions. Each conductor of the flat cable is pushed between the offset arms of a corresponding contact. A cap is mounted over the rear of the connector. Cavities in the cap having inclined walls engage the free ends of the resilient arms of the contacts urging them inwardly toward each other to ensure that a high strength connection will be maintained between the contacts and the conductors.
