Abstract: A lightweight liquid fuelled heater for use in tents or shelters. A removable liquid fuelled burner is supplied by a fuel cannister and a pump to create pressure in the cannister. A flame plate restrains the flame in a desired position during combustion. The burner is positioned within a support plate in the heater and the burner is removable from the support plate and heater. The flame plate is likewise removable from the burner. An adjustable damper is mounted in the stack and an adjustment wheel is located externally of the heater to allow variable draft between startup and steady state combustion. A removable tray may be used for wood burning.
Abstract: An auxiliary heater with a casing enclosing internal components which components include a heat exchanger separate from and outside the coolant tank and wherein two coolant loops each have their own coolant pumps and wherein a potable water loop exchanges heat with coolant within the heat exchanger. A control circuit provides enhanced coolant flow through the heat exchanger when the call for hot water is significant without significantly reducing the temperature of the hot water being used. A level switch within the coolant tank prevents coolant pumps from running without pump coolant and a filling and air purging operation improves the initial filling operation of the auxiliary heater with coolant and also prevents the coolant pump from running dry. A user switch may dedicate the hot coolant from the coolant tank to either the production of hot potable water or it may share both hot water and space heating.

Abstract: A burner assembly comprises a burner tube and a nozzle assembly used as a source of fuel and air for the burner tube. The burner tube is cylindrical and extends longitudinally about an axis. The burner tube includes two flame grids, each of which is located around the outside periphery of the burner tube and which supports a blue flame. A series of flame retention barriers are mounted about the periphery of the burner tube adjacent the flame grids.
Abstract: A multi-viscosity fuel metering valve comprises a metering stem and a metering stem guide. The metering stem is rotatable relative to the metering stem guide. A port is located in the metering stem guide and a plurality of orifices, each having different dimensions, are positioned in the metering stem. The port in the metering stem guide may be moved relative to each of the orifices and each of the orifices may be individually positioned adjacent the port. The selection of an orifice for a fuel having a particular viscosity allows the use of different fuels with a heating apparatus such as a burner.
