  • Patent number: 5566574
Abstract: A method for monitoring and maintaining correct regulation of the tension of a yarn fed to a textile machine, such as a loom, a hosiery machine or a knitting machine, including the steps of continuously determining both the state of movement and the tension of the yarn at a point between a support bobbin from which the yarn is unwound and the textile machine which processes it, comparing the measured tension with a predetermined desired tension and adjusting the tension of the yarn at a point between the bobbin and the point in which the tension is measured. The tension adjustment is interrupted when the measured tension is equal to the desired value. The device of the present invention includes sensing elements for sensing movement and measuring tension of the yarn and a comparison element for comparing the measured tension value with a desired tension and which is connected to the sensing element.

  • Patent number: 5353610
Abstract: A device for controlling the feed of at least one yarn (14) to a textile machine (15) and for compensating any pulling and excess tension exerted on said yarn (14) during said feed, the yarn (14) being unwound from a usual bobbin (16), comprises support means (13) arranged to slidingly cooperate with the yarn (14) and to support it during its feed to the textile machine (15), said support means (13) being movably associated with winding and unwinding means (3) fixedly supported on the machine (15) by a support member (21), said winding and unwinding means (3) comprising means (6) which compensate the movement of the support means (13) and which slidingly cooperate with the yarn (14), means (25, 28) being provided for sensing the movement of said support means (13), said sensor means (25, 28) being connected to means (30) which control the operation of the textile machine (15) and which are arranged to halt this latter when a predetermined movement limit for said support means (13) is reached.

  • Patent number: 5331564
Abstract: A device for verifying the correct employment of the yarns used by a textile machine, which enables improper use, inexact feed velocity of each yarn used and inexact length of the machine operating cycle to be indicated, and in addition measures the consumption of each yarn used for the fabric.

  • Patent number: 5291024
Abstract: A method and device for determining the state of a movement or stoppage of a yarn fed to a textile machine in which a variation in the shape and/or position of the yarn relative to an optical sensor in front of which the yarn runs during its feed to the textile machine is determined. On the basis of this variation, an output electrical signal is generated and is used for operating an operating member of the textile machine such as an indicator for indicating the state of movement of the yarn, a machine control circuit or a similar operating member. The method is implemented by an optical sensor which generates at least one output which is a variable electrical signal on the basis of a variation in the shape and/or position of the yarn relative to the sensor. The signal is compared with a reference signal in order to operate a switch device which causes the output electrical signal to be generated.

  • Patent number: 5207763
Abstract: A monitoring system for knitting machines, in particular for such machines for the knitting of hosiery or socks, having a number of yearn guards allocated to each yarn for infeed into the machine, the guards each being operative, in response to a movement or absence of movement of the yarn, respectively, detected thereby, to generate and output signal to stop the machine in the event of yarn or thread breakage or other fault int h e yarn infeed, by the intermediary of preferably electronic control unit connected to the yarn guards. The control unit includes memory and comparison systems and is arranged to gather and memorize, during an introductory, correct and approved working or report cycle of the machine, information representing the yarn infeed phase in the form of the actual pattern of output signals from the yarn guards.
