Patents Assigned to Internationella Siporex AB
  • Patent number: 4778527
Abstract: There is provided an anti-corrosive mixture for iron and steel surfaces which comprises (a) a mixture composed of 5 to 25% by weight (solid basis) of one or more kinds of aqueous emulsions or aqueous latices of styrene resin and 5 to 15% by weight (solid basis) of aqueous emulsion of asphalt, and (b) 60 to 90% by weight of at least one kind of inorganic powder selected from the group consisting of silica stone, silica sand, granite, andesite, shale, kaolin, feldspar, talc, mica, fly ash, slag, iron oxide and graphite. The inorganic powder may also contain 1 to 10% by weight of limestone powder. There is also provided a process for the manufacture of steam-cured aerated light-weight concrete while applying the above anti-corrosive mixture to the reinforcing steel bars used in that process.

  • Patent number: 4619173
Abstract: To facilitate the lifting of slab-like pieces of material separated from a block of material by substantially horizontal cuts, with the aid of a movable suction device acting upon the upper surface of an upper slab-like piece of material, a pressurized gaseous medium is caused to act in the region of the cut between the upper piece of material and the underlying slab-like piece of material or residual part of the block of material, either prior to and/or while lifting said upper piece. The pressurized medium is supplied into a least one cavity which has an open side and is formed in a movable cover means arranged along a substantially vertical side of the block subsequent to moving the cover means to a position in which it is sealingly connected to and each open cavity side thereof is covered by a portion of said block side, which portion extends along and reaches above and below said region of the cut.

  • Patent number: 4528883
Abstract: An apparatus for dividing substantially parallelepipedic bodies of only partially cured aerated concrete into smaller pieces comprises a cutter for cutting the bodies along horizontal cutting planes into substantially parallelepipedic pieces having a thickness which is substantially smaller than the original height of the bodies while the bodies rest on horizontal supports. Each of these pieces can be lifted from the remaining part of a respective body and transferred to a further support arranged in a stacking station, by transporter which exerts a suction force to the upper side of the pieces, which pieces are placed one on top of the other in the stacking station, to form a stack intended for insertion into a final-curing station. The apparatus comprises two cutting stations with associated cutters for dividing a respective aerated concrete body, the cutting stations being located adjacent to and on each side of the further support.

  • Patent number: 4202228
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a method of and apparatus for cutting a slab from a body of uncured light-weight concrete, resting on a support surface. The method comprises the step of moving the body of uncured light-weight concrete along a longitudinal axis of said support surface through a predetermined distance; cutting a slab from said body while supporting the front face of said slab, moving the slab away from said body along an extension of said longitudinal axis; and subsequently moving the slab along at least one arcuate movement path in a plane perpendicular to said support surface and parallel to said longitudinal axis. The apparatus for performing the methods includes a sequentially moveable work feed means, a wire cutter mechanism for cutting a slab from the face of the concrete and a carosel-like pneumatic suction device for holding and transporting the cut slab to subsequent spraying, shaping and stacking stations.

  • Patent number: 4197077
Abstract: Cellular lightweight concrete slabs are manufactured by cutting a still plastic block of cellular concrete mass resting on a first support horizontally into slices which are then moved over one by one to a second support and piled in reversed order thereon, at least one of the two broadsides of each body slice being subjected to a treatment before being covered by the next transferred slice. The treatment prevents the body slices from cementing together during the subsequent steam-hardening process and may also improve the quality of the slabs when hardened. An apparatus for each manufacture features a movable suction head for transferring the body slices as well as associated means for cutting and treating said slices.

  • Patent number: 4174936
Abstract: Cellular lightweight concrete slabs are manufactured by cutting horizontally through a block of still plastic cellular concrete mass resting on a support. At each cut a single slice is separated from the lowermost portion of the block or the remainder thereof. After each completed cut the upper remainder of the block is elevated by means of a suction head, in order to expose the recently cut surfaces for a treatment, and then again deposited on top of the slice or slices already resting on the support. Rotary roller means are provided for contributing in the surface treatment.

  • Patent number: 4108933
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a method of manufacturing porous concrete products in which there is first formed an at least approximately parallelepipedic body of concrete mass which is plastic at a given stage but still shape permanent, whereafter said body resting on a first support surface, while the concrete mass is still plastic, is divided into a multiplicity of slabs by means of horizontal cuts, the thickness of each slab being much smaller than the original height of the body, whereafter a multiplicity of the thus obtained slabs are charged to an autoclave in which they are steam-cured in a group resting on a further support surface. The invention is characterized in that one slab at a time is lifted from the remaining body resting on the first support surface and is transferred, while being turned through 90.degree., to the further support surface on which surface the transferred slabs are placed on one long-side edge thereof in mutually spaced apart relationship.
