    Abstract: Apparatus for the sampling of heavy fuel oil supplied to a ship as bunker fuel consists of a pipe section for oil flow containing a static vane mixer, and a positive displacement pump with its inlet communicating with the interior of the pipe section downstream of the mixer, together with a delay timer causing the pump to pump out a small quantity of oil at regular intervals into a receptacle where these extracted quantities accumulate progressively during the course of the bunkering period.
