  • Patent number: 5123881
Abstract: A flexible endless belt for full-track vehicles comprises a belt body made of an elastomeric material, and a longitudinal pull-resistant carrier embedded therein. The soil-engaging contact surface of the belt body is provided with projections while the inner surface flat for contacting the cylindrical mantle surface of rollers of the drive assembly. For the form-locking drive of such a belt and for achieving a vibration and noise reduced drive, the inner surface is provided with bending-resistant transverse stays that are embedded in the belt body and end flush with the edges of the inner surface of the belt. The inner surface is provided with longitudinally extending recesses before and after the transverse stays for engaging teeth provided at the drive roller.

  • Patent number: 4815794
Abstract: The rotatably mountable track chain roller has two molded axle journal stubs which each engage rotatably in an end cap formed as a radial and axial bearing. Further expecially the track chain roller is provided with lubricant material for its bearings which has a lubricant action on them. An easy and economical manufacture for the track chain roller results when at least one spacer suitable for providing a set value of axial play in the axial direction of the track chain roller is clamped between the track chain roller and one of the end caps without play. The spacer is made of a soft grindable lubricant-resistant material which does not influence the lubricant action and which is grindable against the track chain roller, the axial journal and the end cap. The spacer can be ring shaped and have a plurality of approximately equal width spacing maintaining regions distributed approximately equally circumferentially around the ring and connected by straps of a narrower width.

  • Patent number: 4461488
Abstract: A chain-track link assembly has a pin extending along and defining an axis, an outer link element fixed to the pin and forming therewith an axially open annular recess having an annular end face lying substantially in a plane perpendicular to the axis and a radially inwardly directed cylindrical inner surface centered on the axis, an inner link element pivotal about the axis on the pin and having an annular end face substantially parallel to and axially confronting the end face of the outer link element, and an annular seal in the recess between the end faces, centered on the axis and substantially axially symmetrical therearound. The seal has a hard and radially outwardly U-section part formed with a pair of like legs having axially oppositely directed sides each formed by a pair of opposite inclined and axially oppositely tapered surfaces joining substantially at a line.

  • Patent number: 4455054
Abstract: A master link for a track chain has two parallel cheeks each split into a pair of mutually complementary parts with mating teeth having undercut flanks which in the tensioned chain urge them into firmer engagement with each other. The teeth have concentric arcuate ridges with a center of curvature lying beyond the axis of a pintle interconnecting the two cheeks at their ends. A track shoe or bottom plate is fastened, with some relative play in the longitudinal direction of the link, by respective bolts to the otherwise unconnected link parts.

  • Patent number: 4438981
Abstract: A hinge joint for a track chain having a bored pin for the reception of lubricant passed thereinto through a plug in the open end of the pin bore, the other end of which bore is blind, and the plug having a channel extending part way there-through and communicating with a slit leading to the reservoir, and the pin being located in a bushing having a slight space between their walls for the lubricant which can pass to packings in recesses in outer chain links around the pin ends, and inner chain links around the bushing ends inwardly out the outer chain links, the bushing having an opening providing for passage of the lubricant from the reservoir, through the slight space and to the packings in the outer chain links.

  • Patent number: 4355988
Abstract: Track roller for track-laying vehicles such as excavators having a shaft, a roller body rotatably supported thereon, two caps for limiting relative axial movement of shaft and roller body, and end pieces for attaching the track roller to the frame. The shaft has at its center a relatively large diameter, laterally thereof, spaced axially from each other, two relatively wide cylindrical bearing surfaces of larger diameter and, on its sides, ends of reduced diameter with elastic packings at suitable places between the end pieces and the caps and between the caps and the roller body, and an antifriction metal washer arranged between shaft and caps for the feeding of oil to those packings requiring lubrication which is effected from the oil space arranged between the bearing surfaces of the shaft and serves as an oil reservoir.
