  • Patent number: 6152530
Abstract: An article of inflatable furniture having independent air chambers for supporting body weight and typically used in the domestic environment includes a plurality of air pressurized subchambers particularly positioned within an outer enclosing chamber for modify the shape of the outer enclosing chamber to obtain a cushioned, roll-up effect in the article of furniture. The article of inflatable furniture includes a bottom layer and an pressurized outer enclosing chamber sealed to the bottom layer. A seating surface is formed on the outer enclosing chamber for supporting the body weight of a person. A pair of independent, air pressurized subchambers are sealed to the bottom layer and extend upward into the outer enclosing chamber. The subchambers serve to increase the pressure within the outer enclosing chamber and to modify the shape of the outer enclosing chamber.

  • Patent number: 5960495
Abstract: An inflatable air mattress which includes a top sheet and bottom sheet of flexible air impermeable material. When inflated, the mattress is provided with a series of tube beams running the length of the air mattress. These beams are sealed to the top and bottom sheets of the air mattress by a sinusoidal sealing pattern.

  • Patent number: 5813946
Abstract: An inflatable jumping toy typically employed in a play area by children performing jumping exercises is disclosed. The inflatable jumping toy comprises a construction incorporating a large torodial-shaped tube utilized as a base element and a vertical retainer wall mounted upon the top of the torodial-shaped tube. The retainer wall functions to absorb the lateral impact of a child against the jumping toy and to prevent a child from falling out of or being accidentally ejected from the jumping toy. A multi-layer bouncing mattress which is surrounded by and in communication with the torodial-shaped tube serves as a cushioned floor to absorb the vertical impact of the children during the jumping exercises. In a preferred embodiment, the multi-layer bouncing mattress includes an upper floor layer having an I-beam construction for providing maximum impact absorption of the vertical forces associated with jumping.

  • Patent number: 5603129
Abstract: The panel wall pool includes a sidewall with spaced apart panels supported in an upright position when the pool is empty by an inflatable ring, which also provides the protection of a cushion along the top of the sidewall area. The sidewall also includes a reinforcing band which encircles the panels to bind the panels together to substantially prevent individual panels from being forced outward and to help to prevent the outward bending or bowing of the sidewall of the pool.

  • Patent number: 5437068
Abstract: An inflatable air mattress having a generally rectangular mat portion that is foldable or bendable in multiple directions in a fully inflated condition. The mat portion includes rows of generally sinusoidal seals extending transversely across the mat portion. Alternating rows of the sinusoidal seals are uniformly shifted out of phase by a range of about 1/8 to 3/8 of the repeating period, or a phase shift of from about .pi./4 radians to about 3.pi./4 radians, and most preferably by a phase shift of about .pi./2 radians. Alternating rows of inflation chambers are formed by the sinusoidal seals with enlarged body portions and neck portions of reduced thickness, which form natural fold lines in the mat portion when the mat portion is inflated. The mat portion is bendable longitudinally, transversely and obliquely to be rollable and foldable, and to permit the mat portion to cradle the torso and extremities of a person reclining on the inflatable mattress in water.

  • Patent number: 4807554
Abstract: An inflatable boat for high speed towing applications having a compartmentalized hull and an improved tow-ring mounted beneath the hull, the hull including first and second buoyancy chambers, the second chamber being vertically disposed beneath the first chamber. Inclined, flexible reinforcing partitions are substantially vertically disposed within the second buoyancy chamber to substantially divide the chamber into a plurality of sub-chambers, and restrain the bottom wall of the chamber upon inflation, to form outwardly projecting convex arcuate portions having longitudinal grooves defined therebetween. The tow-ring includes a reinforced hollow structure having interior reinforcing walls and a convexly curved top wall, portions of the walls together defining a peripherally disposed pair of longitudinal tie-line tunnels and a transverse tie-line tunnel, sized to receive a tie-line therethrough.
