Abstract: A control device for controlling a fluid supplying machine. The control device includes a first handle and a second handle connected by a resilient attachment member. The resilient attachment member is configured to allow the first handle to move with respect to the second handle in response to an input from an operator. The control device further includes a sensor attached to the first handle for producing a variable control signal indicative of a distance between the first handle and the second handle.
Abstract: A pneumatic control device includes a housing, a pressure control member secured to the housing, a first fluid-conduit member, and a first sensor. The pressure control member is constructed and arranged to selectively change a fluid pressure within the control member. The first fluid-conduit member is in fluid-flow communication with the pressure control member. The first sensor is in fluid-flow communication with the first fluid-conduit member. The sensor is constructed and arranged to generate a control signal based upon the fluid pressure within the control member. In preferred systems, the pneumatic controller is useful for producing a variable control signal to control a rate of fluid dispersement to a patient in an angiographic system.

Abstract: A dual port syringe has an upper port for connection to a fluid reservoir and a lower port for delivery of the medical fluid under pressure to a patient. A first valve is connected between the fluid reservoir and the upper port, and second valve is connected between the lower port and the patient. During a fill operation, a piston is moved within the syringe to drawn fluid from the reservoir into the syringe through the upper port. During injection operation, the piston moves in an opposite direction to force fluid out of the syringe through the lower port.
Abstract: An angiographic injector system includes a manifold and valve which selectively connects either a syringe pump or a low pressure system to a catheter which is inserted into a patient. The valve is normally biased to a state which connects the low pressure system to the catheter for pressure monitoring, saline flushing, or aspirating functions. When an injection is to be made, the valve automatically switches so that the low pressure system is disconnected and not exposed to high pressure, while the syringe pump is connected through the manifold to the catheter.
Abstract: An angiographic injector includes a syringe which is connected to a fluid reservoir through a valve which permits radiographic contrast material to be drawn from the reservoir into the syringe during a fill operation. The valve permits air to be expelled from the syringe through the valve during a purge operation, but blocks flow of contrast material from the syringe back to the fluid reservoir. During an injection, the valve blocks flow of contrast material back to the fluid reservoir while the contrast fluid is being delivered under pressure from the syringe to a patient.
