  • Patent number: 4216775
Abstract: An electrolysis hair removal apparatus including a stylet adapted to be placed in contact with a papilla to effect destruction of same and further including an indicator for indicating the optimum position of the stylet and the duration that the stylet should remain in such optimum position during each electrolysis hair removal operation is provided. The stylet is coupled through a voltage source to a conductive reference member. A detection circuit is adapted to produce a detection signal when the stylet is selectively positioned at the papilla. A first indication circuit, in response to the detection signal, is adapted to produce a first indication signal representative of the optimum positioning of the stylet. A delay indication circuit, in response to said detection circuit producing a detection signal, is adapted to produce a second indication signal representative of the completion of the hair removal electrolysis operation at a predetermined interval of time after the first indication signal.
