  • Patent number: 7823948
Abstract: A system for mounting adjustable shelves (206) in mobile truck body-applications. The system includes integrated attachment means adapted to receive a cross-member (202) for affixing thereto. The integrated attachment means are integrated into the panels forming the compartments (102,112,114,116) of the body side pack. The system further includes one or more shelves (206), which include at least two slots, disposed along the periphery surface of the shelf (206) so as to receive a corresponding fastener (208). The cross-member (202) includes at least two slots, corresponding to the slots in the shelf (206), such that a fastener (208) extends through the slots to secure the shelf to the panel of the compartment.

  • Patent number: 6321818
Abstract: A tool for use in installing the bead seat band (44) and rim flange (42) of a multiple piece wheel as part of a tire changing or servicing operation that includes a tool body (10) having a corner with a first elongated surface (34) at the corner adapted to engage a rim flange (42) and a bead seat band (44) in an axial direction. The tool includes a second elongated surface (36) at the corner adjacent the first surface (34) at an acute angle to the first surface and adapted to engage the rim flange (42) in an axial direction at a location spaced from the intended point of engagement of the ring flange (42) by the first surface (34). The first and second surfaces (34), (36) define a notch (32) opening away from the body (10) and a tool mounting fixture (26) is connected to the body (10) generally opposite the notch (32).

  • Patent number: 4623067
Abstract: A compact foldable crane for mounting on a truck or the like and of the type including a mast, an inner boom and an outer boom. The mast is made of two sections, a mounting section and an upright section and the two are pivotally interconnected. The upright section is made relatively long in relation to the mounting section and may be lowered on the latter to achieve vertical compactness when the crane is in a stored position. The upright section may also be raised to an upright position to maximize the crane reach when the crane is in an operative position.

  • Patent number: 4314597
Abstract: Apparatus for mounting and demounting tires and methods of mounting and demounting tires. The apparatus may include a clamp for holding a wheel as well as a tire clamp and pushing device for gripping a tire and applying a moving force thereto. The tire clamp is mounted for movement toward and away from the wheel clamp and toward and away from a support for the wheel clamp. It is operated, during tire mounting, to nonaxially urge a tire having one part of one bead received in the drop center of a wheel away from the wheel to draw that part into the drop center while axially moving the tire at a remote location toward the wheel so that the beads at the remote location are disposed between the flanges of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 4051966
Abstract: A tire manipulating apparatus has a rotatable head and means for raising and lowering the head. Tire gripping means consists of a pair of spaced, parallel tubular housings which are secured to the head in a common plane, and two L-shaped members, each of which has a first arm telescoped in a housing and a second arm, said second arms being inclined with respect to the first arms so that their free ends are coaxial. Linear motors extend and retract the L-shaped members to grip a tire. Opposed tire gripping elements on the free ends of the arms are rotatable about a common axis by coordinately operable power units to turn a tire gripped by the elements.

  • Patent number: 3970342
Abstract: Tire servicing apparatus including a tire gripping tool base adapted to be mounted on a vehicle, a crane boom or the like. The base movably mounts a pair of opposed tire gripping members which may be moved towards and away from each other to grip or release a tire for servicing purposes. Hydraulic cylinders are provided for moving the tire gripping members relative to the base and an elongated flexible strap is operatively connected to both of the tire gripping members and has a length sufficient to define a loop of a size to be circumferentially received about a tire. When the loop is so disposed, the motors may be operated to move the tire gripping members away from each other to diminish the size of the loop in the strap to squeeze the tire about its tread thereby seating the beads of the tire on a rim associated therewith.
