    Abstract: A composition is provided that inhibits DNA replication in activated cell-free extracts of Xenopus eggs, which is prepared by a process comprising subjecting homogenates of Xenopus ovaries to a series of chromatographic separations so as to isolate a purified fraction comprising a protein having a molecular weight of about 245 kDa.
