  • Patent number: 9279756
Abstract: A flush valve for a waste water system comprises a valve including a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet and a main valve element adapted for movement to allow fluid flow between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet based on a pressure differential across a portion of the main valve element. The valve also includes a vent system comprising a control chamber in flow communication with the fluid inlet of the valve and a vent outlet in flow communication with the fluid outlet of the valve, and a solenoid for venting fluid venting fluid from the control chamber to the fluid outlet. A pressure sensor, such as an electronic pressure transducer, senses the fluid pressure of fluid within the vent system. When a predetermined pressure threshold is reached or exceeded, the solenoid can be energized to release fluid from the control chamber.

  • Publication number: 20160061287
Abstract: Torsional vibration dampers for FEADs are disclosed that include a hub having a sleeve defining a bore for receiving a shaft and an outer annular ring spaced radially outward from the sleeve, thereby defining an annular receptacle, a component for rotation with the hub having an inner annular ring disposed between the sleeve and the outer annular ring of the hub, and an annular cartridge seated in the annular receptacle between the inner annular ring of the component for rotation with the hub and the sleeve or outer annular ring of the hub. The annular cartridge defines a first annular groove having a generally C-shaped or U-shaped cross-sectional profile open radially outward, and has a first elastomer member seated therein in compression, thereby operatively coupling the component for rotation with the hub to the hub. The component may be a pulley body or an inertia member.

  • Publication number: 20160061160
Abstract: An evacuator for supplying vacuum to a device in a boosted engine air system is disclosed. The evacuator defines a body comprising a converging motive section, a diverging discharge section, at least one suction port, and a Venturi gap located between an outlet end of the converging motive section and an inlet end of the diverging discharge section. A lineal distance is measured between the outlet end and the inlet end. The lineal distance is decreased in length if higher suction vacuum at a specific set of operating conditions is required and the lineal distances is increased in length if higher suction flow rate at the specific set of operating conditions is required.

  • Patent number: 9272752
Abstract: A watersports boat includes a hull having an underside defining a running surface that contacts water when the hull moves therein. An aft running surface section of the hull has (a) a trailing edge forming an aft-most point of the contact with water along any given buttock line of the hull when the hull is moving forward, (b) a non-repositionable aft running surface section forming a first portion of the trailing edge, and (c) a re-positionable aft running surface section forming a second portion of the trailing edge. The first portion of the trailing edge and second portion of the trailing edge meet substantially tangent to one another.

  • Patent number: 9276723
Abstract: Systems and methods of wirelessly transmitting user data are provided. A plurality of wireless communication devices are selected for a user data packet. Distinct user data is included for each of the plurality of wireless communication devices in the user data packet. Portions of the user data packet including the user data for each of the plurality of wireless communication devices are identified. The user data packet is then transmitted over a wireless air interface.

  • Patent number: 9277607
Abstract: A lamp includes a single string of light emitting diodes (LEDs), driven in common, configured to cause the lamp to emit a visible light output via a bulb. The lamp also includes a lighting industry standard lamp base, which has connectors arranged in a standard three-way lamp configuration, for providing electricity from a three-way lamp socket. Circuitry connected to receive electricity from the connectors of the lamp base as standard three-way control setting inputs drives the string of LEDs. The circuitry is configured to detect the standard three-way control setting inputs and to adjust the common drive to the string of LEDs to selectively produce a different visible light outputs of the lamp via the bulb responsive to the three-way control setting inputs. The lamp may also include nanophosphors pumped by emissions of the LEDs, so that the lamp produces a white light output of particularly desirable characteristics.

  • Patent number: 9277517
Abstract: Exemplary methods and systems may generally be implemented to allow a macro-network base station without access to a GPS reference signal to provide some or all of the functionality for which existing macro-network base stations typically rely on GPS. In a first aspect, an exemplary macro-network base station may determine its location using a location-determination technique that is based upon the angles of arrival of FM radio signals from nearby FM stations. In a second aspect, an exemplary macro-network base station may stabilize its local oscillator by phase-locking its local oscillator to an FM radio signal, and periodically adjusting its local oscillator to account for phase drift of the FM radio signal. And in a third aspect, an exemplary macro-network base station may synchronize its frame-start timing with a nearby base station using a frame-start timing signal that the base station has synchronized to frame transmissions from the nearby base station during a setup routine.

  • Patent number: 9258754
Abstract: Systems and methods of operating multimode 3G/4G communications devices in an overlapping 3G/4G coverage area (e.g., WiMAX or LTE/CDMA EvDO) include determining if a number associated with temporarily-disabled sectors of an available sector set of the multimode device while the device is operational with a 3G base station is at least equal to a threshold number. If the number is at least equal to the threshold number, a scan for a sector in the 4G network to handover the operation of the multimode device from the 3G base station associated with the 3G coverage to a 4G base station associated with the 4G coverage is initiated. A scan for a fixed period of time for a new available sector in the 3G network to be added in the available sector set may be initiated; and, if a new available sector is added to the sector set, it may be redetermined if the number associated with the temporarily-disabled sectors is at least equal to the threshold number, before initiating the scan for a sector in the 4G network.
