  • Patent number: 7606548
Abstract: A data transmission method in which a data signal is transmitted between transmitter and receiver in the form of a data stream of data bursts in at least two transmission modes, in the first mode a reference signal being transmitted by the transmitter in each data burst and being evaluated in the receiver, and in the second mode no reference signal being transmitted by the transmitter in each data burst. In the second mode, in place of the reference signal, additional redundancy data of the data signal are transmitted in each data burst.

  • Patent number: 7586870
Abstract: A transmission frame and a telecommunications device (60, 65, 70) having a transmission frame (1) are proposed, which are used to transmit short messages (5) in a telecommunications network (10), in particular in a radiotelecommunications network. By means of the transmission frame (1), especially flexible transmission of short messages (5) in the telecommunications network (10) is possible. At least two data fields (15, 20, 25, 30) are provided. Data of a short message (5) are stored in memory in the data fields (15, 20, 25, 30). Data in a first data format are stored in a first data field (15), and data in a second data format, different from the first data format, are stored in a second data field (20).

  • Patent number: 7565181
Abstract: A mobile telecommunications terminal is provided, which makes possible, so as to use the least possible amount of power, a query of messages present for the mobile telecommunications terminal in a telecommunications network. The mobile telecommunications terminal includes a receiving device for receiving messages from the telecommunications network in a receive mode. At the mobile telecommunications terminal, a query mode can be established, in which a control unit, in the event that the receive mode is switched off, activates the receive mode at least one first predetermined time. The control unit checks whether, within a second predetermined time period after the activation of the receive mode, information was received in the receiving device regarding at least one message present in the telecommunications network (10) for the mobile telecommunications terminal.

  • Patent number: 7551932
Abstract: A method of assigning transmission channels in a telecommunications network and a user station are provided, which facilitate an increase in the capacity of a telecommunications network. The telecommunications network may include multiple base stations and mobile stations, the transmission channels being provided for transmitting signals between the base stations and the mobile stations. In uncoordinated operation of the base stations, at least one of the transmission channels is assigned for transmitting signals between one of the base stations and one of the mobile stations as a function of a channel measurement, in which the transmission power on all possible transmission channels is measured, if the previously measured transmission power on this transmission channel is minimal.

  • Patent number: 7453838
Abstract: A method of operating a mobile wireless network is provided, in which, when there is a relocation, the connection may be continued essentially directly from the latest state before the relocation. User data is transmitted between a mobile station and a first base station, the user data being combined into data units, for example, packet data units, before being transmitted. For transmission of data units, transmission-specific information describing an instantaneous state of the transmission is stored in the mobile station, as well as in a first network unit at a higher level than the first base station. With the relocation of the mobile station from the first base station to a second base station having a second higher-level network unit, the transmission-specific information stored in the first higher-level network unit is transmitted to the second higher-level network unit to continue the transmission after the relocation essentially directly from its latest state.

  • Patent number: 7430184
Abstract: A slave station and a method of regulating the transmission power of a master station are described, which permit an estimate of the signal/interference ratio in a transmission system without sending a pilot sequence, the transmission power being regulated as a function of an estimate of the signal/interference ratio. In a transmission system, in particular a CDMA transmission system, useful signals assigned to different communicating subscribers are separated by orthogonal codes. A useful signal assigned to one communicating subscriber is derived by using one of the codes from a signal received at least in the slave station from the master station and is compared as a reference signal with the received signal to estimate the signal/interference ratio.

  • Patent number: 7406138
Abstract: A method for estimating memory-enabled transmission channels, having the following steps: determining a first estimation ? of the pulse response of the transmission channel; estimating the additive interferences of the transmission channel; and correcting the first channel estimation while taking into consideration the estimation of the additive interferences. The first channel estimation is performed using a matched filter or a least squares estimation.

  • Patent number: 7349443
Abstract: A method and a device for synchronizing data-transmission devices, in which devices a data signal is transmitted in the form of a stream of data bursts between a first station and a second station. A reference signal is transmitted in connection with the specific data burst. In a first step, a first reference signal is sent from the second station to the first station. In a second step, a channel estimation is carried out in the first station based on the reference signal received from the second station. In a third step, the first station sends to the second station a data burst predistorted on the basis of the channel estimation. In a fourth step, the first station sends to the second station a second reference signal altered on the basis of the channel estimation. In a fifth step, the second station synchronizes the data burst on the basis of the second reference signal.

  • Patent number: 7289536
Abstract: The invention proposes a method for signaling various header data (5, 10, 20, 25) in the transmission of packet data units (1) in a telecommunications network depending on a type of the respective header data (5, 10, 20, 25), which requires the lowest possible bandwidth and bit rate. A set of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) received in a receiver (70) of the telecommunications network, depending on its signaling (30, 35, 40), is supplied to one of at least two groups (50, 55) of algorithms for an evaluation. For a first type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25), a first algorithm is provided in a first group (50) of algorithms, and for a second type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) a second algorithm is provided in a second group (55) of algorithms, wherein the first algorithm corresponds to the second algorithm. The signaling (30, 35, 40) for the first type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) and the signaling (30, 35, 40) for the second type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) are combined into a shared signaling.
