Abstract: A semiconductor device has a semiconductor wafer having sensing portions exposed on a surface thereof and an adhesive sheet attached to the semiconductor wafer as a protective cap to cover the sensing portions. The adhesive sheet is composed of a flat adhesive sheet and adhesive disposed generally on an entire surface of the adhesive sheet. Adhesion of the adhesive is selectively reduced by UV irradiation to have adhesion reduced regions, and the adhesion reduced regions face the sensing portions. The protective cap can be produced with high productivity, and securely protect the sensing portions when the semiconductor wafer is diced and is transported.

  • Patent number: 6104110
Abstract: An electric noise suppressor for a direct current motor comprises a grommet, a choke coil and an electrical terminal. The grommet has an accommodating portion for accommodating the choke coil, an engaging portion for being engaged with a brush holding board of the motor, and a holding portion for holding the terminal. A pair of supporting portions for supporting a pigtail connector are formed to symmetrically protrude from an upper peripheral portion of the accommodating portion. Therefore, the terminal and the pigtail connector are disposed outside the accommodating portion of the grommet, thereby enabling inductance of the choke coil to increase. Further, the pigtail connector, the choke coil and the terminal are restricted from moving and chattering. As a result, the electrical noise suppressor requires less mounting space and is highly reliable.

  • Patent number: 5798813
Abstract: A liquid crystal cell includes a color filter substrate and an opposite substrate which are overlapped on each other with a seal interposed therebetween. The seal has a liquid crystal inlet port through which liquid crystal is filled into a space enclosed by the seal between the substrates. A width of the liquid crystal inlet port is made wider than a width of an effective display area of the liquid crystal cell, so that, when the liquid crystal is filled into the liquid crystal cell, the liquid crystal flows uniformly without disturbing an orientation of the liquid crystal.

  • Patent number: 5460985
Abstract: A vertical type power MOSFET remarkably reduces its ON-resistance per area. A substantial groove formation in which a gate structure is constituted is performed beforehand utilizing the LOCOS method before the formation of a p-type base layer and an n.sup.+ -type source layer. The p-type base layer and the n.sup.+ -type source layer are then formed by double diffusion in a manner of self-alignment with respect to a LOCOS oxide film, simultaneously with which channels are set at sidewall portions of the LOCOS oxide film. Thereafter the LOCOS oxide film is removed to provide a U-groove so as to constitute the gate structure.

  • Patent number: 5435870
Abstract: A method for manufacturing filter elements, in which sealant does not get onto the rolling claw and rolling of the roll filter paper is made easy.A long roll filter paper having laterally oriented filter parts for filtering, the filter parts being open on the inflow side of the roll filter paper and closed on the outflow side of the roll filter paper, is rolled. During rolling, a sealant is applied to the surface of the roll filter paper in a narrow longitudinal strip, in such a way that the sealant does not make contact with the rolling claw. The roll-start end of the roll filter paper is gripped with the rolling claw during rolling. The rolling claw is made up of 2 or 4 rolling bars having the shape of the parts produced when a cylinder is split into two halves along its axis.
