Patent number: 11950250Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for uplink control information (UCI) design for uplink (UL) transmission with configured grants. In accordance with one embodiment, a wireless communications device may receive, from a gNB, first information indicating a plurality of resources for a configured grant (CG) on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). The wireless communications device may determine, based on second information, a portion of the plurality of resources to use for transmitting a configured grant-uplink control information (CG-UCI). The wireless communications device may generate the CG-UCI, wherein the CG-UCI comprises at least one of: an identifier associated with the wireless communications device or an indication of a modulation and coding scheme (MCS). The wireless communications device may transmit, to the gNB on the PUSCH, the CG-UCI using the determined portion of the plurality of resources.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2019Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: IPLA HOLDINGS INC.Inventors: Yifan Li, Allan Y. Patent number: 11923939Abstract: Multiple mobility sets are maintained for nodes of radio networks. The sets comprise information such as: transmit and receive point identities; cell identities; beam identities; frequency channels; channel bandwidth; and black lists. The sets may be defined at different levels, such as network and physical (PHY) level. A network mobility set, e.g., a new-radio (NR) mobility set may, be determined by the gNB, the cell, the UE, or another device. Multiple radio access network nodes and UEs may exchange mobility set information to achieve a distributed mobility solution. A UE may monitor its orientation relative to a TRP, e.g., via use of an onboard MEMS gyroscope, and alter its beamforming parameters in response to changes in orientation and/or changes in TRP connection strength. Cell selection and reselection for beam based networks may use Single Frequency Network (SFN) broadcast of initial access signals without beam sweeping.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2023Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: IPLA HOLDINGS INC.Inventors: Wei Chen, Pascal M. Patent number: 11818566Abstract: Multi-RAT UEs currently have 2 independent paths to authenticate with HSS (e.g., via the MME or the 3GPP AAA Server causing repeated authentication messages to HSS). The use of one unified authentication path between the UE and HSS for Small Cell and Wi-Fi authentication is described. First, a new 3GPP EPC-TWAN interworking architecture has the MME manage all the authentication requests from multi-RAT UEs. Second, new unified authentication procedures are added, which allow the ISWN-based multi-RAT UE to be authenticated directly with the HSS, irrespective of its current access network (TWAN or HeNB). Third, new fast re-authentication procedures for Inter-RAT handover scenarios are done. Finally, the needed extensions to the various standard protocol messages to execute the authentication procedures are described.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2021Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: IPLA HOLDINGS INC.Inventors: Ahmed Mohamed, Michael F. Patent number: 11729293Abstract: A mapping service in the mobile core network located after a packet data network gateway examines content requests from user equipment across a first PDN connection to determine if content associated with the content request is cached at an edge server outside of the packet data network. If the content from the packet data network is cached at the edge server, the mapping service redirects the user equipment to request the content from the edge server across a second PDN connection. By using a mapping service located after the packet data network gateway, the content requests may have already passed restrictions such as parental controls.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2021Date of Patent: August 15, 2023Assignee: IPLA HOLDINGS INC.Inventors: Michael F.
