  • Patent number: 9465798
Abstract: A single word and multi-word term integrating system and a method thereof are disclosed, wherein a user uses an input unit to continuously input pinying codes for the system to find combinations of the pinying codes to provide word candidates for the user to choose, wherein the word candidates can be combined into a phrase or a sentence; when the inputted pinying codes are too long or incomplete, there might be a false prediction of a word or a sentence due to an incorrect combination of pinying codes; consequently, the system forcibly determines the pinying codes to be regarded as a single word and does not combine them with the follow-up pinying codes; then the system uses a full sentence prediction result display unit for the user to choose a correct word, thereby improving prediction accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20130139092
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for inputting data entries of a service for use with a portable electronic device having a touch screen. By detecting a continuous stroke moving on the touch screen to select desired items among multiple levels of menus which are displayed in a sequence for an object targeting to a service, the data entries according to the selected items are committed for the object when the continuous stroke ends. In addition, multiple items can be selected in one level of menu by using a pre-defined stroke indication in the continuous stroke. Furthermore, the selected items can be corrected by re-stroking back to the corresponding levels of menus.

  • Publication number: 20070250307
Abstract: A language learning system, method, and computer readable medium thereof are provided. In this system, (1) the deciding module decides an original term, (2) the retrieving module retrieves a plurality of possible terms, and (3) the displaying apparatus displays the possible terms. Thereafter, the receiving interface receives an input option, wherein the input option comprises one possible term. The determining module determines whether the selected piece corresponds to the original piece. Lastly, the generating module generates a report according to the determined result. By providing various possible Chinese characters and Chinese phrases that challenge the user appropriately, the user can learn the language much more effectively.

  • Patent number: 6364974
Abstract: A quenching apparatus and a method for hardening steel parts is disclosed. The method optimizes cooling conditions preventing the occurrence of film boiling and the “self-regulated thermal process” while optimizing the depth of the hardened layer and providing increased strength for the steel part. The optimum depth of hardening is considered to be when the surface compressive stresses on the part are at their maximum value and depth. In addition, “maximum” steel strength is achieved when the cooling rate of the part is above a certain minimum level. However, additional strengthening of the part occurs when the rate of cooling avoids both film boiling and subsequent nucleate boiling, and cooling of the part proceeds directly into the convection cooling process. At the end of the quenching process, some steel parts may benefit from isothermal cooling in air, i.e., self tempering.

  • Patent number: 4631698
Abstract: An interface apparatus for interconnecting signal lines of a computer connector and a peripheral device connector with non-matching interconnect patterns having mismatched data lines or open inputs on handshake or control lines. A pair of conductive paths extend between the connectors, with each path interconnecting one data line of the computer connector with one data line of the peripheral connector. Lights indicate mismatched interconnection of the data lines, and a switch selectively reverses the interconnection of the data lines. Additional conductive paths extend between the connectors, each path interconnecting at least one handshake or control line of each connector with at least one handshake or control line of the other connector. Two pairs of interconnecting handshake lines are each provided with a switch in gang with the data line switch for selectively reversing their electrical interconnection.
