  • Patent number: 11961485
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cholesteric liquid crystal display, a liquid crystal driving unit, and a driving method for reducing the maximum driving voltage. The cholesteric liquid crystal display comprises a cholesteric liquid crystal display panel, a temperature detecting device, and a liquid crystal driving unit. If the temperature detecting device detects a temperature below the optimal range for the cholesteric liquid crystal display panel, the liquid crystal driving unit will operate the cholesteric liquid crystal display panel in DDS timing mode. When the temperature detecting device detects that the temperature of the display panel exceeds the optimal temperature range, the liquid crystal driving unit will operate the display panel in PWM timing mode, which can solve the problem of increased power consumption caused by changes in ambient temperature, and can greatly improve the better color level.

  • Patent number: 11947204
Abstract: A cholesterol liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel and a liquid crystal driving unit. The liquid crystal display panel has a plurality of pixels. The liquid crystal driving unit applies row driving voltages and column driving voltages to a designated pixel according to the input signal. After the input signal is transmitted, the liquid crystal driving unit activates the power-down signal within a certain period of time to reduce the row driving voltage and the column driving voltage applied to the specified pixel. Thereby, the crosstalk phenomenon on the cholesteric liquid crystal display device can be improved.

  • Patent number: 11852941
Abstract: A cholesteric liquid crystal display device includes a solar cell, a first substrate, a shielding layer, a first electrode layer, a cholesteric liquid crystal layer, a second electrode layer and a second substrate stacked sequentially from bottom to top. The solar cell includes a metal wiring pattern layer. The shielding layer corresponds to the upper side of the metal wiring pattern layer, and is used to reduce the reflection of light from the metal circuit pattern layer. In this way, the cholesteric liquid crystal display device replaces the traditional black absorbing layer with the black material of the solar cell, which can not only absorb light, but also display the image with self-sustaining power. The cholesteric liquid crystal display device shields the arrangement of the metal wiring pattern layer through the shielding layer, which can ensure the image quality of the display panel.

  • Patent number: 11705076
Abstract: A cholesteric liquid crystal (LC) composite display device includes a light absorbing substrate, a first and second transparent substrates, a light supplement module arranged between the light absorbing substrate and the first transparent substrate, a control module, a first and second electrode layers respectively formed on the first and second transparent substrates, a first cholesteric LC layer sandwiched between the first and second electrode layers, and a first light absorbing layer disposed on the second transparent substrate. The projection of the first light absorbing layer on the horizontal plane and the projection of the light supplement module on the horizontal plane are arranged in a misaligned manner. The control module is provided for controlling the light supplement module according to the brightness signal. Thereby, when the external brightness is low, the light supplement module enhances the displaying brightness of the cholesteric LC composite display device to meet the usage requirements.

  • Patent number: 10551660
Abstract: A cholesteric liquid crystal writing board, which can display a writing track, includes a cholesteric liquid crystal device, an optical layer, a photo-sensing array and a voltage control circuit. The cholesteric liquid crystal device includes plural liquid crystal control areas. The optical layer has plural optical openings. The photo-sensing array includes plural photo sensors arranged in an array. The photo sensors are disposed corresponding to the optical openings. One of the photo sensors senses a luminous flux change and generates an erasing signal accordingly. The voltage control circuit receives the erasing signal and outputs a voltage signal accordingly to the liquid crystal control areas corresponding to the photo sensors having the luminous flux change, such that a part or all of cholesteric liquid crystals corresponding to the liquid crystal control areas are morphologically changed so as to clear a part or all of the writing trace.
