At least one of the shells having a retaining channel for engaging and retaining a floating carrier on a visor pivot rod. It is also contemplated that the sun visor may have a snap in vanity system and rotating pin on a D-ring associated therewith. The visor body also may include a wire routing option to route a wire from the electrical system of a vehicle to a light bulb in a vanity.

Abstract: A visor for use in a vehicle is disclosed. The visor comprises a pivot rod and a first and second shell being engagable to form a visor body. The visor also comprises a vanity and a mirror having at least one clear portion arranged at or near an end thereof. The visor also comprises a circuit board secured to the first shell and a light emitting diode secured to a surface of the circuit board. The visor also comprises a ramp arranged in a back surface of the mirror wherein the ramp is aligned with at least one clear portion of the mirror. The visor mirror having a ramp arranged therein may allow for light to be redirected towards the user of the mirror from the LED.

Abstract: A security shade for use in an automotive vehicle. The security shade includes a cassette having a roll tube arranged therein. The roll tube has a shade panel fixed to the roll tube at one end thereof. The security shade also includes a bearing arranged in an end of the roll tube and a spring housing arranged in an end of the cassette. A motor spring is arranged within the spring housing and is axially fixed with relation to the roll tube and the cassette. The security shade also includes an end cap arranged over an end of a cassette. The security shade has the compressible end cap over each end of the roll tube and cassette.

The assembly further comprises a shaft in contact with the motor spring wherein the shaft rotates with respect to the housing. The assembly also includes a connector arranged over an end of the shaft. The motor spring assembly generally will be arranged and secured within a guide rail of a sun shade assembly thus allowing for a more robust and durable sun shade assembly within an automotive vehicle.

The visor includes an expanded polypropylene body and a partial clamshell engaging the body along a single longitudinal length of the body and along a single transverse length of the body. The visor also comprises a pivot rod arranged within the clamshell and a cover material arranged over the body and the clamshell. The hybrid visor provides a light weight, low cost recyclable visor that is capable of being designed into any number of configurations all while providing the same robustness and stiffness of heavier and more costly visors.

Abstract: A latch lock out assembly for use with an armrest of a vehicle is disclosed. The latch lock out assembly comprises a flexible body secured to the armrest on an end of the body. The latch lock out assembly also comprises a generally cylindrically shaped blocking member arranged on an end of the body. The blocking member will be used to block the disengagement of a latch from a locking surface when the armrest is in a generally vertical or seat back position but flex or bend to a secondary or disengaged position when the armrest is in a generally horizontal position within the vehicle.

Abstract: A seam for use in a seat of a vehicle having a side airbag that deploys through a cover of the vehicle seat. The seam including a first material and a second material joined to the first material. A monofilament member used to join the first material to the second material. The monofilament member will allow for quicker and easier tearing of the seam thus allowing for more complete and quicker deployment of the airbag through the vehicle seat cover to protect the occupant from contact with interior surfaces of a vehicle.
