    Abstract: A wrench has a socket defined by a plurality of flat faces and a handle. A first threading tool is provided having a shape and dimension to fit into the socket. An adapter that retains a second threading tool includes a connector having the same shape and the dimension as the first threading tool that fits into the socket. A retaining member is rotatably mounted to the body for movement between a first position and a second position for locking the adapter and the die in the socket. The retaining member has a second plurality of flat faces defining an opening where the second plurality of faces are coextensive with the faces of the socket when the retaining member is in the first position and are offset from the faces of the socket when the retaining member is in the second position.

    Abstract: A package is provided for a saw blade that includes a paperboard back secured to a transparent plastic front. The plastic front includes an edge border that is reinforced to support the weight of the saw blade and that may extend over the edge of the paperboard back for the periphery thereof. The plastic front includes a pocket for receiving the blade where the pocket is provided with projections for engaging the blade to keep the blade from moving once inside the package. A peg is also provided in the plastic cover that engages a portion of the saw blade to ensure that the saw blade is properly oriented in the package during the packaging process. A portion of the back is not adhered to the plastic front to provide an easy opening access between the plastic front and the paperboard back.

    Abstract: There is provided a reciprocating saw blade having a tapered tang stem. The tang has a tang portion with at least three outer edges and a stem portion with at least three outer edges. The profiles of the tang portion and particularly the stem portion are such that they facilitate the effective and efficient engagement of the saw blade with any of numerous different keyed or keyless chucks of reciprocating saws. The tang/stem profile also advantageously provides for increased strength for resisting failure and/or fatigue stemming from a cutting force applied to the saw blade during use.

The tool trays disposed within the two housing members are removably attached to inner recessed cavities in the housing member by snapping male protrusions located on the tray into corresponding female recesses located on the inner surface of the recessed cavities.

A pair of handle wings are pivotally connected to the shank at a transverse pivot hinge such that the handle wings can be changed between a screwdriver-type configuration, an L-shape configuration, a T-shape configuration or other intermediate configurations. When the handle wings are in the fully open position, the handle wings bear against the shank to create a mechanism for transferring power between the handle wings and the tool shank without the need for a separate lock. A quick change adapter having a female drive can be connected to the male square drive such that the tool handle can be used with a wide variety of tools including taps and extractors, sockets, screwdriver bits and the like.

A linkage transmits a force applied to the handles of the pliers to the jaws and locks the jaws in the clamping position. The linkage allows the angle between the links to be preset to thereby control the clamping force applied to the work piece. The movable jaw is selectively attached to the linkage in one of two positions such that the jaw span may be adjusted without affecting the geometry of the linkage.
