Abstract: An apparatus for determining a non-apparent attribute of an object having a sensor portion with which the object makes contact and to which the object applies pressure. The apparatus has a computer in communication with the sensor portion that receives signals from the sensor portion corresponding to the contact and pressure applied to the sensor portion, and determines from the signals the non-apparent attribute. The apparatus has an output in communication with the computer that identifies the non-apparent attribute determined by the computer. A method for determining a non-apparent attribute of an object.
Abstract: The invention relates to an internal seal system. The internal seal may be incorporated into a pre-filled, small-volume nebulizer assembly with a T-connector. The small-volume nebulizer may be pre-filled with at least one unit-dose of medicine and hermetically sealed until use by an input port seal and the internal seal. The internal seal may operate as a valve when the assembly is changed into a second configuration.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides advantageous tray and bracket assembly that is configured and adapted to promote modularity and withstand the harsh environment of central sterile processing processes. Modular bracket assembly may be removed and relocated on tray without additional fasteners or components. Tray and bracket assembly may further provide identification features to correctly associate cataloged reusable medical devices to identified trays.
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine, a service brake, a brake booster, a parking brake, a wheel-speed sensor and an inclination sensor is disclosed. The method including measuring the speed of motor vehicle using the wheel-speed sensor to create a speed signal. An inclination of the motor vehicle with respect to the direction the motor vehicle is sensed and an angle signal is created. The internal combustion engine is started when the speed measured is greater than zero and the inclination of the motor vehicle is greater than a predetermined value, such that the internal combustion engine creates a partial vacuum to power the brake booster to assist with the operation of the service brake.

Abstract: A wireless power transmission device for a vehicle and a wireless charging method are provided. The wireless charging method by the wireless power transmission device for a vehicle can comprise the steps of: transmitting a signal for detection of a wireless power reception device by using a lower frequency band than an operating frequency band used to control the vehicle; receiving a response signal for the transmitted signal and a power control signal from the wireless power reception device; controlling an operating frequency and/or a voltage in the wireless power transmission device for the vehicle according to the power control signal; and transmitting wireless power to the wireless power reception device.
Abstract: A method of multicast data rate selection in an access point includes: establishing respective connections between the access point and a plurality of client devices; determining whether to set a legacy client presence flag in a memory of the access point based on whether the plurality of client devices includes or does not include a legacy client device; prior to initiating a multicast transmission to the plurality of client devices, determining whether the legacy client presence flag is set; when the legacy client presence flag is set, setting a selected multicast data rate corresponding to a first maximum data rate in a subset of legacy-compatible data rates stored in the memory; and when the legacy client presence flag is not set, setting the selected multicast data rate corresponding to a second maximum data rate in a subset of non-legacy-compatible data rates stored in the memory.

Abstract: Porous three-dimensional networks of polyimide and porous three-dimensional networks of carbon and methods of their manufacture are described. For example, polyimide aerogels are prepared by mixing a dianhydride and a diisocyanate in a solvent comprising a pyrrolidone and acetonitrile at room temperature to form a sol-gel material and supercritically drying the sol-gel material to form the polyimide aerogel. Porous three-dimensional polyimide networks, such as polyimide aerogels, may also exhibit a fibrous morphology. Having a porous three-dimensional polyimide network undergo an additional step of pyrolysis may result in the three dimensional network being converted to a purely carbon skeleton, yielding a porous three-dimensional carbon network. The carbon network, having been derived from a fibrous polyimide network, may also exhibit a fibrous morphology.
