    Abstract: Disc crusher having a housing fitted on a supporting frame and closed by a cover bearing an input tube, within the housing there being fitted a rotary disc and a rotary cone. The disc and cone form a crushing zone between them. The rotary disc rotates about a horizontal axis and the rotary cone rotates about a horizontal axis which intersects the rotary disc at its center. Preferably, the rotary cone forms an angle of from 40 to 80 degrees with the vertical working surface of the rotary disc. As a result of such arrangement the crushing zone is of rectangular shape.

    Abstract: Method of and apparatus for leaching copper from slags by the use of a device comprising at least two cells separated by partitions and connected to each other by means of through-holes provided at the bottom part of the partitions, a slag charging hole, a copper matte charging hole, a slag discharge hole, a copper matte discharge hole, and a heating appliance, said partitions being alternately higher and lower, the height of the through-holes through the higher partitions increasing toward the slag discharge holes. Said method includes reduction, sulphidization, and copper matte rinsing of the slag, the copper matte rinsing of the slag being accomplished by its successive movement from one cell into another through a copper matte layer in alternately downward and upwardly directed streams.

    Abstract: Method of and apparatus for treating and refining liquid metal alloys by direct current arc heating. On at least a part of the melt surface there is performed an electrolysis whereby the melt across a layer of liquid slag-electrolyte is connected as an anode or a cathode, and the connection with the other pole--cathode or anode--is effected by means of one or more direct current arcs. Depending upon the desired direction of the electrolysis process, it is possible to change the polarity of the metal melt or the slag-electrolyte. The apparatus for performing the method comprises a vessel equipped with a mechanism for pouring, a movable cover and movable electrodes. The centers of the electrodes are disposed symmetrically one to the other in a vertical plane. As a source of direct current there are used two or more rectifiers operating independently.
