Abstract: The use of an effective quantity of a protein hydrolysate from plants belonging to the crucifer family, as whitening and/or depigmenting skin agent, for the preparation of a cosmetic and/or dermatological and/or pharmaceutical composition. In a preferred embodiment, the hydrolysate is obtained from rapeseed proteins. Also the composition may contain the aforementioned hydrolysate in a cosmetically and/or pharmaceutically acceptable excipient chosen between glycerol, propanediol and butylene glycol.

Abstract: What is described herein are antimicrobial compositions which are defined blends of a 1,2-diol and phenoxyethanol which show broad activity against bacteria, fungi and mold spores. This activity is potentiated by the addition thereto of small amounts of a co-biocide for which the blend acts as a delivery system for the otherwise water-insoluble co-biocide.
