Abstract: In the magnet rotor 1 in which the outer peripheral shape of the back yoke 3 composed of an electromagnetic steel plate or by laminating ordinary thin plates 3a having magnetism is formed in polygon and a permanent magnet 5 is adhered and attached to a fitting plane 4 of the back yoke 3, the permanent magnet 5 does not cause any rotation gap to the back yoke 3. Also, since the back yoke 3 is formed in polygon, only the permanent magnet 5 can be made thicker in a center part without changing a contact width and leak magnetic fluxes between N and S poles, the magnetic flux density is increased and the output is increased. Further, since a sleeve 10 is press-set into a step part 12 of an outer peripheral face of the permanent magnet 5, when the magnet rotor 1 is integrated in a stator 11, a clearance of the permanent magnet 5 and the stator 11 can be reduced and the output can be increased dynamically.

  • Patent number: 6412461
Abstract: A rocker arm for rocking on a rocker arm shaft is constructed to include two arms: a first rocker arm rocked positively by the rotating motion of a cam; and a second rocker arm for actuating the opening/closing actions of an intake/exhaust valve. At a running time of an engine at a high speed/under a high load, an electromagnet of an electromagnetic drive device is excited to move a movable pin forward thereby connect the first and second rocker arms to each other. At a running time of the engine at a low speed/under a low load, on the other hand, the electromagnet of the electromagnetic drive device for a selected cylinder is unexcited so that the movable pin is returned to an initial position by the force of a return spring to disconnect the first and second rocker arms.

  • Patent number: 6098734
Abstract: This hybrid powered automobile has generators driven by the engine and a battery, and also includes a controller that selects the motive power in compliance with regulations on noise and NOx. The controller of the hybrid powered automobile selects whether the vehicle is to be driven by the electricity of the generators driven by the engine or by the electricity of the battery. When the battery charge level is lower than a specified level, the engine is operated in a range where the engine produces a minimum amount of NOx and the mileage does not deteriorate. When the vehicle is traveling in areas where release of exhaust emissions is permitted, the engine is operated to generate electricity to recharge the battery. The control of switching the motive power between the engine and the battery is performed by receiving a signal transmitted from a traffic light equipment elected on the road.

Abstract: In the combustion chamber structure of the gas engine the combustion chamber members are formed with the sub-communication holes allowing communication between the main combustion chambers and the pre-combustion chambers and also with throat holes in which throat hole valves are installed. This structure avoids excessively high compressed air pressure in the main combustion chambers during the compression stroke and reduces the compression work to improve performance. • Patent number: 6069431
Abstract: A synchronous generator which is driven by an engine whose rotation variation is large and which can easily incorporate an output voltage stabilization circuit. In this synchronous generator, magnetism shorting paths for a magnetic field produced by the armature coil is formed without changing the armature specifications. Magnetic fluxes produced by currents flowing in the armature coils can easily pass through the magnetism shorting paths, thereby increasing the equivalent inductance value and improving the frequency characteristic of the inductance. This in turn improves the voltage step-up chopper characteristic during generation to stabilize the generated voltage of the synchronous generator driven by, for example, an automobile engine that widely varies in revolution speed.
