Abstract: In an arrangement of the disclosed systems, devices, and methods, a matrix representation of a block code comprising m bit-planes is obtained, a generator matrix corresponding to each of the m bit-planes from the matrix representation is extracted, a transformed generator matrix and a transformed data symbol vector for the first bit-plane of the block code are determined, a reverse-mapped transformed generator matrix for each of the second bit-plane through the mth bit-plane of the block code are determined, and instructions for the encoder architecture based on the transformed generator matrix for the first bit-plane and the reverse-mapped transformed generator matrix for each of the second bit-plane through the mth bit-plane of the block code are generated.
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide an apparatus for transmitting data in an xDSL. In one example, the apparatus can include a transmitter configured to transmit data over the xDSL system in the form of data transmission units (DTUs), the transmitter having a physical media specific-transmission convergence (PMS-TC) communication sublayer and a retransmission unit that is implemented in the PMS-TC sublayer, the retransmission unit including a retransmission buffer configured to store transmitted DTUs and to index the transmitted DTUs using retransmit containers, each retransmit container being defined as a time slot corresponding to a respective sent DTU. A retransmit request specifies a DTU by a corresponding retransmit container and wherein the retransmission unit is configured to retransmit the specified DTU in response to the retransmit request.

Abstract: An audio communication system includes a headset with a microphone having two electrical outputs and a first electro-acoustic driver. The system includes first and second differential amplifiers, and a first electrical conductor for electrically connecting an output of the first differential amplifier with a first audio source device. A second electrical conductor is provided for electrically connecting an input of the driver with the first audio source device. A third electrical conductor is provided for electrically connecting an output of the second differential amplifier with a second audio source device. A fourth electrical conductor is provided for electrically connecting an input of the driver with the second audio source device. One electrical output from the microphone is electrically connected to a positive input of each of the differential amplifiers. The other electrical output from the microphone is electrically connected to a negative input of each of the differential amplifiers.

Abstract: Lithographic printing plates and processes for preparing the lithographic printing plates are provided. The plates have excellent printing durability, staining resistance and staining resistance over time. The lithographic printing plate precursor includes: a substrate; a photosensitive layer provided on the substrate; and an extra layer optionally provided between the substrate and the photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer or the extra layer adjacent to the substrate contains (A) a copolymer. The copolymer (A) includes: (a1) a repeating unit of formula (a1-1) below in a side chain, and (a2) a repeating unit having at least one of the structures represented by formulae (a2-1) to (a2-6) shown in the specification in a side chain. Abstract: Non-planar semiconductor FET based sensors are provided that have an enhanced sensing area to volume ratio which results in faster response times than existing planar FET based sensors. The FET based sensors of the present disclosure include a V-shaped gate dielectric portion located in a V-shaped opening formed in a semiconductor substrate. In some embodiments, the FET based sensors of the present disclosure also include a self-aligned source region and a self-aligned drain region located in the semiconductor substrate and on opposing sides of the V-shaped opening. In other embodiments, the FET based sensors include a self-aligned source region and a self-aligned drain region located in the semiconductor substrate and on opposing sides of a gate dielectric material portion that is present on an uppermost surface of the semiconductor substrate.

Abstract: An image data processing apparatus includes a data size conversion device that changes a data size of an image data at an optional ratio, the image data has a plurality of pixels each of which includes any one of a plurality of color components, and the plurality of color components being arranged in a specific order. The data size conversion device newly calculates a value of color component of each pixel after changing the data size based upon values of color components of a plurality of same color pixels before changing the data size, while maintaining the order of arrangement of the plurality of color components.
Abstract: A secure search mechanism (or search engine) for use with content based information security repositories. The present invention may be embodied in an information security system or method. In accordance with the present invention, a search occurs in a protected device that contains classified metadata and addresses of encrypted headers relating to classified data or information objects. A search request comes in from a user in a particular access level and the search engine returns a set of addresses that are at appropriate access levels and satisfy the search criteria. These addresses are passed or transferred to another device that stores the encrypted headers, and the encrypted headers are sent to the user.
Abstract: The disclosure discloses a personalized meta-search method, which comprises: preestablishing an interest database; searching a keyword; extracting a use log of the keyword from the interest database; preprocessing search results returned from a search engine; calculating, by using the use log, interests of the preprocessed search results and of Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) in the interest database corresponding to the searched keyword; ranking, based on calculated results, and displaying the preprocessed search results and the URLs; updating the interest database. An application terminal for personalized meta-search is also disclosed. The method and the application terminal enable users to obtain more targeted and more satisfactory search results, thereof improving user experience.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of making a semiconductor assembly. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the method includes: preparing a dielectric layer and a supporting board including a stiffener, a bump/flange sacrificial carrier and an adhesive, wherein the adhesive bonds the stiffener to the sacrificial carrier and the dielectric layer covers the supporting board; then removing the bump and a portion of the flange to form a cavity and expose the dielectric layer; then mounting a semiconductor device into the cavity; and then forming a build-up circuitry that includes a first conductive via in direct contact with the semiconductor device and provides signal routing for the semiconductor device. Accordingly, the direct electrical connection between the semiconductor device and the build-up circuitry is advantageous to high I/O and high performance, and the stiffener can provide adequate mechanical support for the build-up circuitry and the semiconductor device.
Abstract: [Problem to be Solved] The present invention has an object to provide an automotive lamp extension molding comprising a resin composition having a low specific gravity, being excellent in the balance of heat resistance and fluidity, and being excellent in gloss and brightness feeling of the surface of the molded article. [Solution] The automotive lamp extension molding according to the present invention comprises a resin composition comprising 50 to 95 mass % of a polyphenylene ether (A), and having a specific gravity in the range of 1.00 to 1.12. The reduced viscosity (measured at 30° C. using a chloroform solvent) of the (A) component is preferably 0.25 to 0.45 dl/g, and more preferably 0.25 to 0.38 dl/g.
Abstract: A face detection device for detecting the face of a person in an input image may include the following elements: a face detection circuit including a hardware circuit configured to detect a face in an input image; a signal processing circuit configured to perform signal processing based on an input image signal in accordance with a rewritable program including a face detection program for detecting a face in an input image; and a controller configured to allow the face detection circuit and the signal processing circuit to perform face detection in a parallel manner on an image of a frame or on respective images of adjacent frames among consecutive frames, and to output a final face detection result on the basis of face detection results obtained by the face detection circuit and the signal processing circuit.
Abstract: An apparatus, method and system is described herein for efficiently balancing performance and power between processing elements based on measured workloads. If a workload of a processing element indicates that it is a bottleneck, then its performance may be increased. However, if a platform or integrated circuit including the processing element is already operating at a power or thermal limit, the increase in performance is counterbalanced by a reduction or cap in another processing elements performance to maintain compliance with the power or thermal limit. As a result, bottlenecks are identified and alleviated by balancing power allocation, even when multiple processing elements are operating at a power or thermal limit.

Abstract: A system maps data within a data source to a target data model, and comprises a computer system including at least one processor. The system determines an identifier for each data object of the data source based on the data within that data object, wherein the identifier indicates for that data object a corresponding concept within a domain ontological representation of a data model of the data source. The determined identifiers for the data objects of the data source are compared to the target data model to determine mappings between the data objects of the data source and the target data model. Data objects from the data source are extracted for the target data model in accordance with the mappings. Present invention embodiments further include a method and computer program product for mapping data within a data source to a target data model.

Abstract: A navigation system and method involving wireless communications technology and speech processing technology is presented. In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, the navigation system includes a subscriber unit communicating with a service provider. The subscriber unit includes a global positioning system mechanism to determine subscriber position information and a speech processing mechanism to receive destination information spoken by a subscriber. The subscriber unit transmits the subscriber position and destination information to the service provider, which gathers navigation information, including a map and a route from the subscriber position to the specified destination. The service provider transmits the navigation information to the subscriber unit. The subscriber unit conveys the received navigation information to the subscriber via an output mechanism, such as a speech synthesis unit or a graphical display.
