Abstract: The invention is directed to a composite structure in which a metal member having a roughened surface and a resin member are joined in a state in which at least a portion of the roughened surface is included. The resin member is made of a molded article obtained by melt-molding a polyarylene sulfide resin composition containing a polyarylene sulfide resin. In the roughened surface, a cumulative pore volume of a pore diameter in a range of 0.1 ?m to 20 ?m is in a range of 0.5 nL/mm2 or more and 5 nL/mm2 or less measured by mercury porosimetry. According to the invention, it is possible to provide a composite structure that is obtained by joining a metal member and a molded article made of polyarylene sulfide resin composition and is more excellent in joining strength, heat cycle resistance, and sealing properties, and a method for producing the composite structure.
Abstract: A conference system with low standby power consumption includes a transmitter, an image data source, a receiver, and a display device. The transmitter includes a battery for providing power, at least one link port for accessing data, and a processor coupled to the battery and the at least one link port. The image data source is used for transmitting the image data to the transmitter. The receiver is linked to the transmitter for receiving the image data. The display device is linked to the receiver for displaying the image data. When the transmitter and the image data source are electrically coupled, the processor ceases to use the battery of the transmitter and controls the image data source for providing power to the transmitter. When the transmitter and the image data source are separated, the processor uses the battery of the transmitter for driving firmware of the transmitter.

Abstract: A method for injecting metadata into an existing artifact is described. The method generates metadata related to an existing artifact having a predetermined structure and encodes the metadata in accordance with the predetermined structure. The encoded metadata is embedded within the existing artifact in accordance with the predetermined structure and is delineated within the predetermined structure as one or more individual records. The artifact, including embedded metadata, is stored within a storage entity and is accessible to processes related to the artifact. Additional records may be generated and embedded over time, thus creating a timeline if event related to the artifact.

Abstract: A refuse vehicle comprises a chassis, a body assembly, a battery system, and a side-loading lift assembly. The body assembly is coupled to the chassis and defines a refuse compartment configured to store refuse material. The battery system is configured to be charged via at least one of an on-board electrical energy generator, an external power source, or a power regenerative braking system. The side-loading lift assembly comprises a refuse container engagement mechanism and at least one electrically-driven actuation mechanism.
