Abstract: A reusable decorative ornament for use on wrapping paper or the like includes an ornamental element such as a ribbon flower or bow. The ornament includes an attachment element for securing the ornament to wrapping paper. The attachment element includes a stack of adhesive elements. By selectively exposing an adhesive layer, the decorative ornament can be used multiple times. The adhesive elements may be secured to the ornament element by a fixed device such as a staple. Each adhesive layer may include a fixed portion in the area of the staple. Perforations may divide the fixed portion from a removable portion of the layer to facilitate easy removal and reuse of the decorative ornament.

Abstract: A system for generating an optical beam array includes a laser light source capable of generating a primary beam of light. An array generating optical element is capable of receiving the primary beam of light and splitting the primary beam of light into a beam array. The beam array can include at least two distinct pattern beams that divergently extend from the array generating optical element at a non-zero angle relative to one another. A void region is formed between the at least two pattern beams, the void region being devoid of any portion of the primary beam.

Abstract: A near-range launcher assembly for at least temporarily detaining a subject include a primary launcher carrying a first projectile, the first projectile including a pair of pellets and a tether connecting the pellets. A secondary launcher carries a second projectile. At least one power source is associated with one or both of the primary and secondary launchers. At least one control system is operably coupled to the at least one power source, the control system operable to activate the power source. At least one user input is operably coupled to the at least one control system, the user input operable to communicate with the control system based on input from the user to activate the at least one power source to expel one or both of the first projectile and the second projectile from the launchers toward the subject.

Abstract: A gripping device for gripping a binding material from an object comprises first and second elongated blades. The first and second elongated blades are arranged parallel and stationary in relation to each other, and they comprise wedge-shaped protrusions. The adjacent wedge-shaped protrusions of each elongated blades form spacing between said adjacent wedge-shaped protrusions. The device comprises also a third elongated blade arranged between said first and second elongated blades. The third elongated blade comprises finger like protrusions, and is arranged to move in relation to said first and second elongated blades in the direction of said longitudinal axis and between first and second positions. In the first position the finger like protrusions form openings and in the second position the finger like protrusions are deflected from the first position so to closing the openings.

Abstract: A projectile deployment system includes a projectile casing having a pair of sockets, each socket sized to carry one of a pair of anchors of an entangling projectile having a tether connecting the pair of anchors. Each of the pair of sockets is angled equally relative to a centerline defined between the sockets. One or more pressure sources is capable of generating a pressure wave capable of expelling one or more of the anchors from the sockets to deploy the entangling projectile from the projectile casing toward a subject. A controller is operable to activate one or both of the pressure sources. A sight is oriented along a target line, the target line being offset relative to the centerline defined between the sockets such that when the anchors are deployed from the projectile casing they exhibit differing flight characteristics.

Abstract: A wrapper and three-dimensional package for toasted and other hot food items that includes a sheet with an array of perforations extending through the sheet material between an inner face of the sheet material adapted to contact the food item, and an opposite, outer face of the sheet material. Spicules are formed from the sheet material surrounding each of the perforations and extending away from the inner face of the sheet material. The spicules form standoffs defining an air gap between the food item and the sheet material when the food item is contained in the wrapper, with the spicules engaging an outer surface of the food item to enable lateral migration of steam from the food item, along the air gap and through the perforations.

Abstract: A grappling assembly for use with an entangling projectile includes at least one hook including an apex portion and a sharpened prong extending distally from the apex portion. A protective cover is positioned adjacent the apex portion of the at least one hook, the protective cover including at least one substantially planar surface. The sharpened prong of the at least one hook extends distally from the protective cover and thereby remaining exposed while the protective cover is positioned adjacent the apex portion of the at least one hook. The at least one hook and the protective cover are formed as an integral unit, or as a continuous, solid piece.

At least one of the entangling projectile or the projectile casing can be configured such that the pair of anchors travel toward the subject with differing flight characteristics after being expelled from the projectile casing.

At least one of the pair of pellets has a head with a head outer diameter and a shank with a shank outer diameter, the shank outer diameter being less than the head outer diameter. A tether connects the pair of pellets. A centering shroud is carried by a shank of the at least one of the pair of pellets. The centering shroud has at least one tether opening formed therein to receive the tether. The tether is coupled to the pellet and extends along the shank of the pellet and through the at least one tether opening formed in the centering shroud.

Abstract: In a system for facilitating the wrapping and taping of articles with wrapping materials, two or more apparatuses adapted to be secured in adjacent spaced relation on a planar surface are provided so as to support a roll of wrapping material therebetween. Each apparatus has an upper frame member which supports an end of the roll thereon and which includes a cavity for dispensing desired lengths of tape therefrom, and a clamp member adapted to be actuated by a user to removably attach its corresponding apparatus to a ledge of the planar surface so that the supported roll is parallel to and above the planar surface.
