Abstract: A bridge protocol for controlled information transfer between encrypted and unencrypted networks—and vice versa—by utilizing successive packets of a flow wherein messages are spread across multiple packets and may therefore collectively convey far greater information than is possible in individual per-packet DiffServ Code Points (DSCPs), as practiced in the current art. In a first preferred embodiment the bridge protocol utilizes IPv6 DSCPs in successive packets to provide messages having a length of up to 6n bits in length where n is the number of DSCPs comprising the IPv6 bridge protocol message. In an alternative embodiment, the bridge protocol utilizes DSCPs in successive packets of an IPv4 flow to provide messages having a length of up to 5n bits in length where n is the number of DSCPs comprising the IPv4 bridge protocol message. It further utilizes the DSCP in the last packet of the IPv4 flow to mark the end of the flow.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are provided for reducing power consumption in a pattern-recognition processor. A power control circuit may be coupled to a block of programmed state machines to enable selective activation and deactivation of the block during a pattern search. The block may be deactivated if the pattern search is no longer active in that block and activated when needed by the pattern search. Additionally, the block may be deactivated based on an identifier of the data stream being searched. Excess blocks not used for any programmed state machines may be disabled such that they are not refreshed during a memory cycle.

Abstract: Deeply scored pharmaceutical tablets are disclosed, along with pharmaceutical tablets with a score in a segment that adjoins a segment lacking a pharmacologically effective dose of any drug.

Abstract: A heat exchanger including a pair of manifolds. An inlet is disposed on one of the ends of the first manifold. A core extends between the manifolds for conveying a coolant therebetween and for transferring heat between the coolant and a stream of air. A cross-over plate is disposed in one of the manifolds to divide the associated one of the manifolds into an upstream section and a downstream section. The cross-over plate presents a plurality of orifices defining a cross-over opening area for establishing fluid communication between the upstream and downstream sections of the associated manifold. The cross-over opening area continuously increases along an axis away from the inlet. The ratio of the total cross-over opening area to the upstream cross-sectional area of the tubes of the core is in the range of XXXXXXXX:XXXXXXX to XXXX:XXXXXX.

Abstract: The inventive subject matter is generally directed to matching a party with another party based on profiling of the parties, and optionally an industry category, for parameters that are relevant to making a match. In certain embodiments, the inventive subject matter facilitates matches between searchers and service providers based on assignment of searchers and service providers to predefined Buyer Types or Service Provider Types based on questionnaires, surveys, and other input and feedback mechanisms. In a further aspect, the inventive subject matter is directed to a system for valuing and monetizing a set of leads to offer to a party. In some embodiments, the inventive subject matter is directed to mobile applications for matching searchers with providers based on awareness of the locations of the parties.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a first interrupt request from a first device instance of a plurality of device instances. The first interrupt request is requesting an interrupt of a processor. The method also includes updating a bit vector based on the first interrupt request. The bit vector comprises a plurality of bits representing an accumulation of interrupt requests. The method further includes generating a gang interrupt comprising the updated bit vector. The method also includes transmitting the gang interrupt to call a first device driver associated with the first interrupt request based on the bits in the bit vector.

Abstract: Zwitterionic block copolymers having oppositely charged or chargeable terminal groups, and methods of making and using the same, are disclosed. The zwitterionic block copolymers can undergo microphase separation.

Abstract: A method involves identifying a leak location in a cable television system using a detection system, calculating a distance between the leak location and a plurality of shapes or points contained in map data to identify the nearest shape or point, and providing a piece of information corresponding to the nearest shape or point. The piece of information may be a street address or a device.

Abstract: A core (26) extends through a circular bend (28) greater than 180 degrees to define a first leg (30) between the bend (28) and an inlet manifold (22) and a second leg (32) between the bend (28) and an outlet manifold (24). The legs (30, 32) are disposed in converging relationship from the bend (28) towards the manifolds (22, 24) to define an acute angle (?) between the legs (30, 32). The manifolds (22, 24) are aligned in juxtaposed relationship along an alignment axis (Y) and the legs (30, 32) are disposed in angular relationship to a reference axis (X) to define first and second drainage angles (?1, ?2) between the corresponding legs (30, 32) and the reference axis (X). The second drainage angle (?2) is >10 degrees and the first drainage angle is (?1)>20 degrees and the acute angle (?) is >10 degrees for draining condensate along the legs (30, 32) toward the juxtaposed manifolds (22, 24) to establish a common drainage point of the condensate.

Abstract: An articulating band saw apparatus provides a frame that includes a vertically extending section having upper and lower end portions. An elevator moves between the upper and lower end portions of the frame. A first hydraulic actuator is supported on the elevator for movement therewith. A first arm provides arm end portions, the first arm supported by the first hydraulic actuator. An end of the first arm supporting a second hydraulic actuator that is spaced away from the first hydraulic actuator. The second hydraulic actuator supports a second arm. An endless band type saw is mounted on the free end of the second arm generally opposite the second actuator. The band saw is movable by articulation of the first and second actuators and resulting movement of the first and second arms. In one embodiment, the band saw is a diamond wire saw.

Abstract: A light emitting device including a voltage source, a light emitting unit, and a current source is provided. The voltage source is coupled to the light emitting unit for supplying a voltage. The light emitting unit includes n light emitting diodes (LEDs) and n current control switches, wherein n is greater than or equal to 3. The LEDs are respectively coupled to the current control switches in series. The current control switches are turned on and off according to a current threshold. The current source is coupled to the light emitting unit for supplying a fixed current. Thereby, the luminous intensity of the light emitting device remains stable even when some of the LEDs fail.

Abstract: A system for simultaneously treating multiple workpieces is configured with treatment sites, configured to hold respective workpieces, fixed on a rotatable base. Treatment stations are equipped with respective active components operable simultaneously to treat respective workpieces identically on respective aligned treatment sites. For loading and unloading the treatment sites are rotated through distinct loading and unloading stations of the treatment stations which allow loading of a second batch while a first batch is being unloaded.

Abstract: N_Ports and F_Ports are provided with logic allowing designation of multiple virtual interfaces on a single host bus adaptor or other Fibre Channel interface, one virtual interface for each VSAN operating on the node interface. Node ports with this additional functionality are referred to as trunking N_Ports or TN_Ports. These ports have a functional design allowing creation of the multiple virtual interfaces as appropriate for the application at hand. This port design also includes logic for communicating with a peer fabric port to initialize and modify the configuration of the virtual interfaces on the TN_Port. A corresponding functional design and communication logic is provided for fabric ports, referred to herein as trunking F_Ports or TF_Ports.

Abstract: A cleave plane is defined in a semiconductor donor body by implanting ions into the wafer. A lamina is cleaved from the donor body, and a photovoltaic cell is formed which comprises the lamina. The implant may cause some damage to the crystal structure of the lamina. This damage can be repaired by annealing the lamina using microwave energy. If the lamina is bonded to a receiver element, the receiver element may be either transparent to microwaves, or may reflect microwaves, while the semiconductor material absorbs the microwaves. In this way the lamina can be annealed at high temperature while the receiver element remains cooler.

Abstract: Systems and methods for digital program insertion. Entitlement control messages (ECMs) may be sent over an out-of-band communication channel to a client device such that the ECMs are received proximate in time to splice points where, e.g., advertising is inserted into a scrambled program or when the scrambled program is to resume at the end of the ad or program insertion. The ECMs may be communicated over the out-of-band channel having a timing such that the client device can process the ECMs, extract a control word and begin descrambling of the scrambled program to provide near seamless splices. In some implementations, out-of-band bandwidth is conserved as the ECMs are sent a splice time, rather than continuously.

The tubular member has a circular-shaped portion extending from the transition zone to the top edge. The oblong-shaped portion has a shorter dimension in the direction between the first and second edges than the circular shaped portion.

Abstract: The invention involves the integration of curved micro-mirrors over a photodiode active area (collection area) in a CMOS image sensor (CIS) process. The curved micro-mirrors reflect light that has passed through the collection area back into the photo diode. The curved micro-mirrors are best implemented in a backside illuminated device (BSI).

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a cylindrical or annular fixing member, an outer surface of which is brought into pressure contact with a conveyed sheet to fix an image onto the sheet; and a heating source for heating the fixing member to a specified target temperature. The fixing member includes a cylindrical or annular base material, a rubber layer with elasticity, and an outer layer for aiding release of the sheet. An end portion of the rubber layer and an end portion of the outer layer are each positioned inner than an end portion of the base material with respect to a width direction perpendicular to a circumferential direction on the base material. A filter member capable of trapping ultra fine particles generated from the rubber layer is provided on the base material in a position facing the end portion of the rubber layer along the circumferential direction.
