  • Patent number: 9505561
Abstract: A conveyor system for transporting articles in a checkout counter is provided. The system comprises a loading conveyor (24) on which articles may be placed by a customer, a second conveyor (25) arranged in series with the loading conveyor (24) which second conveyor (25) is operated at a higher speed than said loading conveyor (24) for increasing the distance between adjacent articles, wherein the loading conveyor (24) is tilted with respect to a horizontal plane in a lateral direction, and wherein said conveyor system further comprises an intermediate acceleration device (26) being arranged between the loading conveyor (24) and the second conveyor (25) for accelerating the articles when moving from the loading conveyor (24) to the second conveyor (25).

  • Patent number: 9301626
Abstract: A classification device (2) for identification of articles (3) in an automated checkout counter is presented. The device comprises a memory unit (5) capable of storing digital reference signatures, each of which digital reference signatures corresponds to an article identity, a processor (6) connected to the memory unit (5), and at least one sensor (4, 7, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 24) configured to determine a measured signature of an article (3) wherein said processor (6) is configured to compare said measured signature with the digital reference signatures, and to calculate a matching probability of a predetermined number of article identities.
