Abstract: An electronic device (1) with a positioning system allows an adequate distribution of the electromagnetic waves resulting from the electronic components in an area far away from the operation cone of the GPS antenna which is thereby protected in the best way, and comprises a case (2) in which a closed chamber (20) is defined, housing a satellite antenna (18), formed by walls (21) in shielding material and by a window (22), in non-shielding material, placed at a portion of said case (2), the latter being formed by a first half-shell (24), in shielding material, incorporating said portion wherein the window (22) in non-shielding material is formed, and a second half-shell (25) in non-shielding material, defining in the case (2) a surface opposite to said window (22) in non-shielding material.
Abstract: In a scanning process for optical reading strips (3), for instance according to the ICAO-MRTD standard, a precise reading is performed at the same time without requiring a complex scanning procedure through the steps of : scanning a plurality of distinct images (F) of the optical reading strip (3), so as they cover in overlapping an effective surface of the optical reading strip (3); performing an optical character recognition (OCR) for each of the images of said plurality, obtaining, for each of them, a set of characters (T); identifying, for each of said sets of characters (T), said index characters (Y); and identifying, in said sets of characters (T), those characters (F) which are present in more than one set of characters (T), performing accordingly a correct positioning of all the characters of said sets according to said positioning pattern.
Abstract: Device (1) for the taking of fingerprints, wherein the fingerprint is impressed on an impression surface (3) of a prism (5), allows to obtain of a predetermined image by indirect light, less sensitive to the presence of residues and dirt, and comprises a light source (15) laterally placed with respect to the taking surface (11) on which the fingerprint is impressed, one surface (12) adjacent to that on which the fingerprint is impressed being treated so as to have one layer (13) having a reduced reflectivity directed toward the inside of the prism (5).

Abstract: A surveillance and remote alarm system for persons subject to limitation of freedom of movement includes a fixed unit placed in the area within which the person can move and a personal bracelet element attached to the person subject to limitation of freedom of movement. The fixed unit is arranged to establish an electromagnetic connection with the personal element and a connection via a telephone line to an operations center. The fixed unit is equipped with a CPU associated with a fingerprint reader and a radio receiver arranged to interact with a similar radio transmitter fitted in the personal element together with a CPU that controls its operation. A sensor is provided to detect any interruption and/or anomalies in the connection between the fixed unit and the personal element and to send an alarm to the operations center.
Abstract: A portable apparatus for scientific identification of an individual comprises, in a container (1) in the form of a small suitcase, a computer which is compatible with operating systems intended to use programs for scientific identification. The computer is connected to a monitor (2) and to a keyboard (3); it is able to be connected to a printer which is external to the container, and is predisposed for remote connection to a processing center responsible for identification. The apparatus further comprises a fingerprint reader (4) connected to the computer, and a digital camera (5) connected to the computer.
