  • Patent number: 4070095
Abstract: A pavement marker including a body having a base for engagement with the surface of a roadway, and a reflector assembly mounted on the body for reflecting light from vehicles on the roadway when the fore-and-aft axis of the body is disposed in parallel relationship with the direction of vehicular travel on the roadway. The reflector assembly includes a pair of plate-like members of light transmitting material. The plate-like members each has an outer surface and an inner surface. The plate-like members are secured together at their peripheries with the inner surfaces thereof disposed in opposed relationship. Retrodirective reflector elements are formed on one inner surface, and the apices of the reflector elements are spaced from the other inner surface. A plurality of support members extend between the inner surfaces to maintain the apices of the reflector elements out of contact with the other inner surface and to provide impact strength to the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4013192
Abstract: A pharmaceutical pill counter incorporating a rotating pill bowl and a stationary guide that cooperatively guide pills in single file to an exposed slide having a main portion that feeds prescription and stock bottle slide portions under the control of a gate. Each slide portion has a downwardly inclined orientation with an exposed channel shape to guide the pills downwardly while permitting the slide portions to be easily cleaned. The slide is preferably integrally defined by an upper housing portion of molded plastic and is located at a corner of the housing so that the prescription and stock bottle slide portions direct the pills to opposite sides of the corner. The gate includes a lower end pivotally mounted at a lower extremity of a common junction of the slide portions and an upper end that is moved along an upper extremity of this junction to direct the pills in the proper direction.

  • Patent number: 3980410
Abstract: A pavement marker having a relatively fragile pavement marker housing and a snow plow frame for guiding snow plows and similar implements over the pavement marker housing. Retrodirective reflector elements may be included in the pavement marker housing. The snow plow frame includes a unitary sheet metal body adapted to be secured to the roadway surface and having a base member with a fore and aft axis that extends parallel to the direction of travel when the body is secured to the roadway, and a transverse axis perpendicular to the fore and aft axis. A pair of snow plow ramp sections are formed on the body on opposite sides of the fore and aft axis, each of the ramp sections including a pair of snow plow ramps extending in opposite directions from the transverse axis. Each of the snow plow ramps has an enlarged end adjacent the transverse axis and decreases in cross-section to a tip portion at the distal end thereof spaced from the transverse axis.

  • Patent number: 3975108
Abstract: A snow plowable pavement marker including a body having a base adapted to be secured to the surface of a roadway in such a manner that the fore and aft axis of the body extends parallel to the direction of travel of vehicles. A pair of snow plow ramp sections are secured to the body on opposite sides of the fore and aft axis thereof, the ramp sections including a pair of oppositely projecting snow plow ramps. The snow plow ramps each has an inner wall adjacent the fore and aft axis, an outer wall on the opposite side of the respective inner wall from the fore and aft axis, and a reinforcing rib extending along the length of the ramp between the respective inner and outer walls thereof.
