  • Patent number: 6843362
Abstract: A zone controller enabling flexible conveyance according to the use by simple change of setting. An aspect of the invention is a zone controller 10 for a particular zone picked from a plurality of zones for control into which a roller conveyor line 1 is divided and which are arrangeable in a row in the direction of conveyance, being capable of controlling operation of a driving roller 4a for conveyance provided in the particular zone, having a mode-setting means 14 capable of switching between a slug mode and a singulation mode. In the slug mode, operation of the driving roller is controlled so that articles in the zones are conveyed uniformly to downstream, maintaining the order of the articles in the conveying line. In the singulation mode, operation of the driving roller is controlled so that the articles are conveyed separately to downstream with a predetermined number of zones in which no article exists preserved between the zones in which the articles exist.

  • Patent number: 6808063
Abstract: A motor-installed roller (3) has a roller body (6) and a prime mover unit (35) installed in this body and composed of a motor (33) and a reducer (34). The roller body (6) has opposite ends closed with closures (7) serving as closures and having cavities (22) formed in it. An external force is applied to an area of outer periphery of the roller body (6), the area corresponding to and facing each cavity (22) so as to plastically deform portions of the roller body and the closure (7). A punched hook engagement (65) formed in this manner serves to easy consolidation of the closure (7) such as the closure, a bearing or the like and the roller body (6) into the motor-installed roller (3), in which they are protected from moving relative to each other in tangential and axial directions, also inhibiting the closure (7) from slipping off even if subjected to vibration.

  • Patent number: 6763927
Abstract: A conveying apparatus is composed of a motor-installed roller (2), cams (3), a rotation axis deflector (4), a drive pulley (5), a driven pulley (6), an endless belt (7), a flat support (8) and a spring (9). The roller (2) and the deflector (4) take their position enclosed with the belt (7), and the shaft (15) of the roller (2) is operatively connected by the deflector (4) to the drive pulley (5). A sleigh-shaped top plate (25) of the support (8) intervenes between the roller (2) and the back surface of belt (7), and when the cylindrical casing (12) of this roller rotates, the cams (3) will also rotate to raise the support (8) and lift the upper transporting path of the belt (7), so that the apparatus is rendered so smaller in size that it can be used as a cross transporter adapted for installation in any desired space.

  • Publication number: 20040104102
Abstract: A motor-installed roller (3) has a roller body (6) with ends closed with fixtures (7), and apertures (30,31) are formed in the roller body and fixtures, respectively. A recess (32) also formed in each fixture (7) extends in axial direction of this fixture so as to communicate with the aperture (31). A hollow pin (9) as the fastener has a solid basal portion (36) and a collapsible foot (35). This foot is deformed by an external force applied to the solid portion in its axial direction, so as to extend along the inner surface of the recess (32) such that the hollow pin (9) is locked in place not to slip off even if subjected to vibration. The solid portion (36) of this pin prevents the roller body (6) from moving relative to the fixture (7), or relative to any closures, bearings or the like easily attached to the roller.

  • Patent number: 6731094
Abstract: Object of the present invention is to distribute signals indicating angular position of a rotor from a controller for a brush-less motor to another control device. A controller for driving a brush-less motor has a magnetic-pole detecting circuit (9) that receives from a Hall-effect semiconductor disposed in a motor roller (4) sequential (pole position-representing) signals relating to a rotor's position. These signals are converted into pulses and then supplied to a current-controlling circuit (8), so that currents to stators are controlled based on the signals from the detecting circuit (9) so as to drive the motor roller. A sequencer (20) supplies to a controlling circuit (7) “ON/OFF” and other commands, that are then processed in this circuit and fed to the current-controlling circuit (8) for driving the motor.

  • Patent number: 6726003
Abstract: A shaft 6 of a motorized roller 1 is fastened to a side wall 17a of a frame 17 through a plate 19. An engaging portion 14 of the shaft 6 is fitted into a hole 21 of the plate 19 so as to prevent rotation of the shaft 6 relative to the plate 19. As a nut 22 tightened on a threaded portion 15 of the shaft 6 presses and urges the plate 19 against the side wall 17a, teeth 20 formed at the corners of the plate 19 bite into the surface of the side wall 17a and prevents rotation of the plate 19 relative to the side wall. Thus the shafts 6, 7 are fastened unrotatably relative to the side wall 17a.

  • Patent number: 6672449
Abstract: By housing a driver circuit board in a motorized roller having a built-in electric motor, the troublesome external wiring can be dispensed with, thereby facilitating the mounting of the roller on other apparatus. The heat generating inside the roller from a driver circuit board in the roller is dissipated by a heat releaser, thus protecting the devices from damage and avoiding failure of control.

  • Patent number: 6577092
Abstract: A DC motor control apparatus includes Hall effect devices each generating a pulse each time a DC motor rotates a predetermined angle. When a control circuit judges, based on the pulse signals generated by the Hall effect devices, that the rotation rate of the motor has decreased below a predetermined rate, with a command to stop the motor given, the control circuit generates a servo command signal. When the servo command signal is generated, the control signal also generates, based on the pulse signals, a rotation direction indicating signal to indicate that the motor should be driven to rotate in the opposite direction. After generating the servo command signal, the control circuit generates and holds a braking force indicating signal indicating the braking force in accordance with the actual rotation rate of the motor. A driver drives the motor in the direction indicated by the rotation direction indicating signal with a braking force indicated by the braking force indicating signal.

  • Patent number: 6459224
Abstract: In a roller conveyor system for carrying out zone control, a conveyed article can be stopped in an approximately constant position without varying the position where the article is stopped in a desired control zone even if the weight of the article varies. In order to syop the article in a predetermined control zone, such stop control is carried out that a motor is decelerated and stopped in a plurality of braking systems depending on the change in the pulse width of a rotational pulse signal to stop the article with high precision in a predetermined stop position.

  • Patent number: 6415914
Abstract: A conveyor system is divided into a plurality of zones each including a plurality of rollers arranged in parallel with each other. The zones are arranged successively for conveying articles from the upstream end to the downstream end of the conveyor system. One of the rollers in each zone is a drive roller. Article detectors are disposed in association with the respective zones and develop an article-representative signal when they detect an article in the associated zones. A current detector detects the sum of currents flowing through motors driving the drive rollers and develops a excessive-current representative signal when the sum current exceeds a reference current value. A current suppressing circuit connected to the article detectors and to the current detector causes limited currents to be supplied only to motors including the motors in the zones where the first and second in order ones of articles being conveyed are present.

  • Patent number: 6360869
Abstract: A transverse conveyance apparatus for roller conveyors comprises a frame, a crosswise feeding mechanism mounted to the frame and a lift device for raising and lowering the frame. Each of rotating portions of the crosswise feeding mechanism is of a width freely movable through between two adjacent rollers of the conveyor. The lift device comprises a cylinder, lids closing opposite ends thereof, fixed shafts protruding outwards and longitudinally of the cylinder that is coaxial with said shafts capable of rotating relative to the lids, a motor built in and driving the cylinder to rotate around and relative to the shafts, a reducer built therein, and a resistance unit also built therein and increasing resistance against rotation thereof. Attachment-engaging portions are formed on the respective lids and disposed longitudinally of the cylinder to face outwards so that the portions and the cylinder rotate together. The portions have axes arranged offset with respect to axes of the shafts.
