  • Patent number: 6291784
Abstract: A compact snap switch that can be assembled mechanically and is equipped as a microswitch. The switch includes a housing for the microswitch and consists of two asymmetrically divided halves whose cut site runs along the edge of one of the large side surfaces. Thus a comparatively large assembly window and a favorable assembly direction are obtained due to the few undercuts of the components. In addition, due to the minor modifications of the machine-instrumented components, the switch can be easily modified for the different application formats. A movable contact lever with a moving contact is mounted so as to pivot in a knife-edge bearing. The free end of the contact lever has a wedge profile which with one of its two sides is exposed to a switching roller reloaded by a switching spring. Switching roller and switching spring are seated in a switching member which is movable along a straight path and abutted by a restoring towards an idle position.

  • Patent number: 6170618
Abstract: A brake shoe for disc brakes comprises a pad back plate which, on a first face thereof, is provided with a friction pad and, on a second face thereof, has a projection to which a retaining spring is fixed to prevent rotation of the retaining spring relative to the pad back plate. The projection extends through a non-circular opening in the retaining spring and comes into intimate contact with the opening when deformed radially by the application of an axial force to the projection to produce a form-lock which prevents the retaining spring from rotating relative to the pad back plate.

  • Patent number: 6135575
Abstract: An electronically controllable brake actuation system for motor vehicles is proposed, with a master cylinder actuated by means of an actuating pedal, said cylinder with brake pressure transducers driven by an electronic control unit, to which wheel brakes of the motor vehicle are directly connected and which are connectable with the master cylinder by means of hydraulic linkages that can be locked by valve devices, with at least one sensor device to recognize the drivers desired deceleration and also with at least one simulator chamber cooperating with the master cylinder. In order to improve the function of a system of this kind, in particular for ASR control processes, it is proposed through this invention that the valve devices be designed as electromagnetic valves driven by the electronic control unit and that the pressure-volume characteristic of the simulator chamber is independent of that of the wheel brakes.

  • Patent number: 6102495
Abstract: A compact hydraulic unit for slip-controlled brake systems with several hydraulically, mechanically and/or electrically operable functional elements (e.g. accumulator, valve elements, pressure generating and driving elements) arranged in an accommodating member, with several pressure fluid channels connecting the functional elements. The pressure fluid channels create a hydraulically operable connection between at least one pressure fluid supply means and one pressure fluid consumer. A control device can be connected with the valve and the driving elements by means of electrical conductors. The valve elements are arranged in several valve accommodating bores of the valve accommodating member in a first and a second row. Pressure fluid bores are provided between the two diametrically extending valve rows which connect the valve elements and location bores containing the pressure generating element and the driving element.

  • Patent number: 6082834
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for a brake system having anti-lock control (ABS) and traction slip control by brake management (BASR) which has an electromotively driven hydraulic pump for the auxiliary pressure supply in the ABS mode and BASR mode, sensors to determine the wheel rotational behavior, and an electronic circuit for analyzing the sensor signals and generating braking pressure control signals. The hydraulic pump, in the BASR mode, is activated by a pulse train (at least temporarily), and the flow rate of the pump is adjusted to the requirements by modulating the pulse train, the requirements being determined by analyzing the traction slip and the instantaneous rotational speed of the hydraulic pump. Pulse patterns in the form of pulse trains with predetermined pulse times and times of pulse break serve to activate the pump.

  • Patent number: 6008457
Abstract: A steering column switch has a spiral spring which produces a rotatable contact between terminals that are rigidly arranged on the housing of the steering column switch and terminals on the rotatable steering wheel. The receptacle for the spiral spring is attained by integrally forming an open receptacle onto the switch housing, with said receptacle being closed by a cover that can be turned relative to the housing. Consequently, the spiral spring is integrated into the switch housing such that a separate spring housing is eliminated. Advantageous additional developments of the invention pertain to an additional locking part that rotationally locks the cover relative to the switch housing while the switch is stored. The locking part also makes it possible to turn the cover only relative to the switch housing once the steering wheel is attached to the steering column.

  • Patent number: 5998989
Abstract: A device for detecting rotary movements includes a measuring data emitter that co-rotates with the part performing the rotary movement, and a stationary transducer which includes a magneto-resistive sensor element with a bias magnet. The measuring data emitter is an encoder having successive permanent magnet areas of alternating polarity in the direction of rotation (Y direction). The sensor element is arranged and the bias magnet is magnetized in such a way that, during rotary movement, in a preferred direction of the sensor element (Y direction) which is orthogonal to the magnetic field component (X direction) produced by the bias magnet, the magnetized areas cause a variable magnetic field component between the adjacent permanent magnet areas which is representative of the rotary movement and passes through the magneto-resistive sensor element in the Y direction.

  • Patent number: 5984651
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydraulic brake system which operates by the feedback principle during brake slip control operations and includes a self-priming pump that aspirates pressure fluid from a pressure fluid reservoir for traction slip control operations. In order to improve the delivery rate of the pump, having a parallel arrangement of the two suction valves, a special construction of the pump-assembly is proposed, wherein the two suction valves are integrated in the pump housing. Advantageously, the suction valves are in axially opposed relationship, and the first suction valve is arranged on the movable piston, and the second suction valve is connected with a screw cap. Further, a pump for a slip-controlled hydraulic brake system according to the present invention is suggested having at least one suction valve with a valve seat, a closure member and a valve spring, the preload of the valve spring being variable in response to the position of a delivery piston.

  • Patent number: 5980000
Abstract: Circuitry for a brake system with traction slip control by brake management, wherein the traction slip control thresholds are variable, in excess of which braking pressure is introduced into the wheel brake of the overspeeding wheel. After the overspeeding of a wheel of a driven axle and the commencement of the control, the traction slip of the second, non-controlled wheel of the driven axle is determined and evaluated to produce a correction factor which adapts the traction slip control thresholds of the controlled wheel to the instantaneous slip of the second, non-controlled wheel.

  • Patent number: 5927826
Abstract: To minimize the power losses of the pump motor in a hydraulic brake system with brake slip control and traction slip control, a shut-off valve prevents flow in the suction line when the supply pressure of the pump is sufficient for traction slip control. This prevents the aspiration of further pressure fluid volume from the pressure fluid reservoir. The pump does not return any fluid volume into the pressure fluid reservoir by way of a pressure-relief valve so that the motor of the pump is relieved. Preferably, the shut-off valve is designed so that the master cylinder pressure acts in the opening direction and the supply pressure of the pump acts in the closing direction of the shut-off valve, the valve being biassed in the opening direction by a compression spring.

  • Patent number: 5926906
Abstract: The invention relates to a wind deflector for fastening to the main bracket of a wiper blade with openings in its spine, whereby fastening is accomplished with first fastening sections for screwing and additional second fastening sections for locking at the side wall of the main bracket that is in front in the direction of travel. Second fastening sections are in each case made from two surfaces that face one another a short distance apart and are connected to one another at the upper edge, one surface of which has a catching projection at the lower edge which can engage under the lower edge of the side wall of the main bracket. To increase the strength or stability of second fastening section or the connection of wind deflector and the wiper blade, one of the two walls of fastening section is wider, at least at its lower edge, than the other and in each case has a catching projection in the laterally projecting areas.
