  • Patent number: 5582276
Abstract: A stator (2), a rotor (5, 6, 7, 8), and an elastic element (3) and rolling members (4) are provided to collectively form a rotational damper. When the rotor has, with respect to the stator, a rotational movement to be moderated, the balls or rolling members (4) are driven by the rotor while remaining partially embedded in the elastic element (3), the latter having a wall (16) parallel to the end walls (10A, 10B) of the stator (2), in which the balls (4) penetrate, so as to resist and thereby dampen the rotational movement. This embodiment provides two-directional dampening. In accordance with a second embodiment, one-directional dampening is achieved by the balls (4) being disposed within variable depth recesses (24') of the rotor element (5').

  • Patent number: 5267667
Abstract: A plug is adapted to be fixed by means of a hot melt adhesive into an opening in a plate. It comprises a molded plastics material body and a bead of hot melt adhesive deposited onto a peripheral surface of the body around a surface transverse to the peripheral surface. The body comprises at least one snap-fastener blade having an insertion ramp and a retaining lip such that the insertion ramp bears against the edge of the opening when the plug is placed on the latter, bends if pressure is then applied to the plug to press it into the opening, and expands thereafter with the lip facing a first side of the plate while the bead of adhesive faces a second side of the plate. The snap-fastener blade extends between an attachment end and a free end in a longitudinal direction parallel to the peripheral surface and to the transverse surface. The blade is therefore entirely on the second side of the plate when the plug is snap-fastened in place.

  • Patent number: 5146658
Abstract: A fastener comprises at least one spring tab for snap-fastening an object to the fastener. The spring tab has an inclined surface extending between a first end and a second end, opposite the first end, at which it has a retaining surface set back beneath the inclined surface. The object to be retained has a projecting portion adapted to bear upon the inclined surface of the spring tab when the object is pressed against the fastener. Snap fastening is achieved by pressing the object to be retained onto the fastener in the direction extending from the first end towards the second end. The spring tab deflects and the projecting portion of the object to be retained slides upon the inclined surface of the tab. When the second end of the inclined surface is passed, the spring tab returns toward its original undeflected position and the retaining surface overflies the projecting portion of the object to be retained.

  • Patent number: 5104272
Abstract: A two-part fastener for mounting a component upon a substrate comprises a first part having an elongate hollow body, a self-tapping threaded portion defined upon an exterior peripheral portion of the elongate body whereby the first part can be threadedly secured within the substrate, and a first snap-fitting engagement member defined upon an internal peripheral portion of the first part. The second part likewise comprises an elongate body, a support portion for fixedly mounting the component thereon, and a plurality of axially spaced second snap-fitting engagement members defined upon an external peripheral portion of the second part. When the second part is axially inserted into the first part, for example, with the component affixed thereon, the second snap-fitting engagement members of the second part selectively engage the engagement member of the first part such that the disposition of the component supported upon the second part can be adjustably mounted as desired relative to the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4488336
Abstract: The invention relates to a buckling device of the type having a strap or other connecting means, a male and a female elements, means for retaining said strap and male and female catch means. Said catch means consist of a retaining volume of said female element and a protuberance of said male element. Two abutments of said male elements cooperate with two obstacle means of said female element in such a way that said male and female catch means are preserved from any traction forces applied to the buckling device. The removal of said abutments of said element from said obstacle means of said female element is produced by the crushing of an elastic means of the male element within a holding volume of the female element.

  • Patent number: 4381585
Abstract: A clamping self locking collar includes a split ring, an actuating lever, and a buckle. The lever engages one end of the clamping split ring and the buckle is associated with the other end of the ring. The lever coacts with the buckle in an overcenter manner to positively lock the clamping collar around an article of a predetermined size. The various elements of the collar are produced from a single injection moulding step and are kept together prior to assembly by the inclusion of frangible connections and flexible filaments. No tool is necessary for installation of the clamp or for ensuring safety and intensiveness of the clamping.

  • Patent number: 4354722
Abstract: This invention is a terminal connector device for electrical wires and comprises a flap member movable under the action of an actuating button, which flap is interposed, in a biased position, between a terminal entry member and a wire receiving support. The withdrawal of said flap from this interposing position, under the action of said button, permits the introduction of the wire whose connecting is obtained automatically by lateral wedging of the wire inserted into said receiving support by the action of said flap, when the button is released. The button is lockable to hold said flap in its retracted position permitting introduction of the wire, which position also enables the disconnection of a previously positioned wire.
