Abstract: A device for connecting the strengthening rod on seat upholstery to the seat load-bearing structure. The device is composed of a fastener into which is engaged a corresponding end of the strengthening rod, a buckle, integral with a fastener and secured to the same by means of a flexible rib enabling angular displacement of the fastener, and a flexible clamp designed to wrap round a member on the load-bearing structure for securing the fastener in projecting manner to the member, and integrally formed at its opposite ends to the buckle and a stop tab designed to engage with the buckle.

Abstract: Buckle on which a female part having a receiving opening at one end and an adjacent locking edge on the opposite side to the opening, and a male part, having a locking portion and an activating portion, are designed to connect in releasable manner; the buckle being characterised by the fact that the locking and activating portions are formed on an intermediate portion and the free end respectively of a flexible tongue projecting from the male part in the insertion direction, the flexible tongue being connected to a further essentially-rigid contrasting tongue on the male part, the distance between the tongue and the locking portion on the flexible tongue being greater than the height of the receiving opening.

Abstract: A buckle of the snap closure type consists of two identical parts, each of which has a male member and a female member. The male member of the one part is adapted to engage by snap action the female member of the other part. The fact that the two parts forming the buckle are identical substantially simplifies both the manufacturing of said parts and their storage.

Abstract: A device for locking a seat back in desired predetermined positions comprises a slider 3 slidable in a slideway 2 provided in the seat base 1, 1' and pivoted at one end to a connecting rod 9 which connects the slider to the seat back 10, and locking pawl 6 fixed to an axle 21, to which is also fixed a handle 8. The slider and the pawl are provided with series of arcuate teeth 4, 4' and 5, 5' capable of meshing with one another, and the pawl is urged by a spring 7 into mesh with the slider, and can be disengaged manually from the slider by means of the handle 8.

Abstract: A plastic snap-hook for hooking belts to rings secured to articles of various kind comprises two sections only; one base section, shaped as a strip folded at one end thereof on itself in the form of a hook and folded at the other end on itself as a flexible tongue; and a second section in the form of a slider engaging the lateral edges of said first section and adapted to slide between a closed and an open position of the hook. The flexible tongue tends to bring the slider back in the closed position of the hook when said slider moves from said closed position.

Abstract: A retractable ashtray, particularly for motor vehicles, comprises a release mechanism made integral in a plastic material.This mechanism comprises essentially a base plate and a body hinged to said plate and having two opposite walls one of which bears a hook and the other a pin, on which an idle pawl is mounted. The latter cooperates, during movements of the ashtray from the in-use position to the out-of-use position and vice versa, with the ribs born by the base plate, movements of the hinged body with respect to the base plate being opposed by a spring which tends to space apart from each other the two elements, the maximum spacing between them being determined by the engagement of a hook born by the base plate with a hook born by a wall of the body hinged to said base plate.

Abstract: An arrangement for connecting an air filter for automotive vehicles to an associated carburetor. The filter including a cap and a housing having at least one sleeve projecting from the bottom wall thereof. Said sleeve being closed at its free end by a cross wall provided with a slot which is registerable with complimentary slots in the cap. A connecting device comprising a seat for the end of a pin permanently fixed to said carburetor and projecting from it. The seat is in an insert having on its outer surface two diametrically opposite ribs adapted to engage teeth provided on surfaces facing each other of two diametrically opposite legs when the insert, on moving upwardly, penetrates between the legs, thereby catching the end of the pin. At the end of the connecting device opposite the seat is a head adapted to be received through said registerable slots and rotated relative thereto to thereby secure the assembled filter relative to the carburetor.

Abstract: A plug assembly for a fuel filler neck includes a subassembly of a cap and latch which may be inserted in the end of a fuel filler neck without the lock assembly. Subsequent to the subassembly being installed in the fuel filler neck the lock assembly may be inserted and secured in a nonremovable fashion relative thereto rendering the fuel filler cap lockable and operable.

Abstract: This invention discloses a device for setting the position of reclining seat backs of vehicles comprises a stationary bracket connected to the seat and a movable bracket connected to the seat back and pivoted to said stationary bracket. The stationary bracket includes a slideway provided in the stationary bracket, a slider adapted to slide along said slideway, an actuating means fastened to the usual control knob and means for engagement of said slider with said movable bracket. The engagement means are arranged at a location offset with respect to the pivotal axis of said movable bracket so as to provide a crank arm capable of angularly moving said movable bracket.

Abstract: A cock for controlling the heating system of a motor vehicle has a flat valve member controlled by a lever. Under operating conditions said valve member is permanently biased by the pressure of the heating liquid against a sealing ring provided in the seat of the valve member in the cock housing and the control lever is connected to the pin of said valve member by means of a screw, the screw serving as a secondary means for biasing the valve member.

Abstract: A cap and filter assembly for fuel tanks of automotive vehicles is provided in which the cap comprises two hollow cylindrical members of plastic material. One of said members has at one end a handle and a circular flange of the closure of the filler opening and at the other end first snap means for engaging and retaining a cylinder lock and second snap means for receiving a complementary portion of the other of said hollow cylinder members. The engagement between the two members is established by means of mating square cross-section portions of said members.

Abstract: A bush of plastic material is provided which is intended to be embedded in the panel of semi-foamed or foamed synthetic resin and which comprises a cup-shaped portion having a bottom provided with a hole for anchoring the head of a panel fastener and a cover portion adapted to engage by snap action a mouth of said cup-shaped portion so as to provide a seal and integrally connected to the cup-shaped portion through a web acting as a hinge.

Abstract: A device for engaging in and disengaging printed circuit cards from the associated card holding frame is provided, which comprises at least an operating lever and at least a card guide element having at each of its ends a head portion, the guide element head portion facing the outside of the card holding frame being provided with means for receiving by snap action said operating lever, said operating lever having a means for engagement with the card so that the rotation of the operating lever causes the card to be engaged in or disengaged from the card guide element.

Abstract: A plastic strain relief clamp is provided which comprises a head and a body having a through bore for receiving a cable, a pawl integrally formed with the body and flexibly connected thereto adjacent the bore and a second bore for a self-tapping screw adapted to be brought in engagement with the pawl in order to engage the pawl with the cable.

Abstract: An adjustable end cap for moldings formed of an element of a plastic material comprising a first portion intended to be inserted in a molding end and a second portion forming an abutment with said first portion and intended to project from the molding end. The first portion has a member for anchoring the plastic element in a hole provided in a wall to which said molding is to be applied and between said member and said second portion of the plastic element an yieldable section is provided which permits relative movements between said anchoring member and said second portion.

Abstract: A filler cap is provided comprising a flange having a handgrip, a stem of square shape for engagement in a complimentary square shaped opening in the tank. The stem is comprised of two sections angularly offset relative to each other by 45.degree. and connected by inclined surfaces. Once the first section of the stem is inserted into the tank opening it is sufficient to rotate the cap by 1/8 of a turn in order to lock it in a closed position.

Abstract: A plastic clamp is provided for tightening a bundle of thread-like elements. This clamp is of the type comprising a head having a passage therein and an integral strap provided with ratchet teeth which, as the strap is passed around the bundle and threaded into said passage, engages a pawl formed in the passage integrally with the head. The pawl is connected to the head through a pair of coaxially extending pins formed on two opposite sides of said pawl.

Abstract: A button and connecting member assembly is described wherein the connecting member is in the form of an elongated ring and the button has a projection in the form of a spring catch. Both members are made integrally from a plastic material.
