Patents Assigned to ITW Plastiglide
  • Patent number: 5938285
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for positionally adjusting and releasably locking a chair backrest in any one of a plurality of positions on a seat support member between two extreme positions. The device includes a first bracket adapted to be rigidly secured to the backrest and a second bracket adapted to be rigidly secured to the seat support member and slidably receiving the first bracket for sliding movement between two extreme, longitudinally spaced, first and second positions. A locking mechanism is provided for releasably locking the second bracket to the first bracket, the locking mechanism comprising a longitudinal array of lock stop members on the second bracket confronting a lock element secured to the first bracket, the lock stop members each having a locking surface.

  • Patent number: 5148578
Abstract: Disclosed is a cord lock device for use in connection with wearing apparel comprising an integrally molded housing including a back support securely connectible to the wearing apparel by means such as, for example stitching. The housing is adapted to receive a pivotally biased cam lock member having a release lever or button. In use, one end of a cord is securely fastened to the back support of the device or to the apparel and the free end of the cord is threaded through the housing adjacent the cam lock member and is positioned for selective pulling, the cord portion defined between the one and free ends of the cord defining a cord loop. The cord loop is sewn into the material of the apparel so that when the free end of the cord is pulled, the material is pulled into close contact with the adjacent part of the body. The preferred location of the device is at the cuffs of a jacket or pants so that they may be pulled about the wrists or legs of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 5143500
Abstract: Disclosed is a fastener system comprising a male or stud element with a split or bifurcated head, forming two prongs, that fits inside a female or socket sleeve. Inside the socket sleeve is an internal annular ring of a smaller diameter. The stud prongs deflect radially inwardly when pushed into contact with the internal ring until the prongs pass the ring at which point they deflect radially outwardly and lock the male member within the sleeve. This locking action allows for a variety of items to be clamped together along the length of the rivet sleeve provided that at each end of the rivet there is a head of larger diameter than that of the sleeve. Each head can be replaced by any number of integrally molded items requiring a locking/mating action or where locking and rotation is desired.

  • Patent number: 5107688
Abstract: Disclosed is an integrally molded plastic clip for supporting coils in a condensor coil grid of a refrigerator or the like, comprising a mounting bracket for mounting said clip to a surface of the refrigerator and articulated sections having a hook for connection to a first coil segment of the coils and movable from a first retracted position wherein the first coil segment is closely adjacent the surface to a second extended position spaced outwardly therefrom. The articulated means comprise two sections, a first section pivotally connected at one end to the bracket and pivotally connected at its other end to an end of a second section, the other end of the second section includes the hook. Lock means extend from the mounting bracket below the hook for detachably locking to the clip a second coil segment of the coil grid below the first coil segment when the clip is in the first position.
