    Abstract: A backup power circuit provides reserve power to a terminal device in the event of loss of power from the main power source. In the terminal device, the main power source is connected to a power circuit which generates two different voltage signals used by different circuits therein. The backup power circuit selectively stores energy from the higher voltage signal and supplies the stored energy to the power circuit when the main power fails, thereby allowing the power circuit to generate the lower voltage signal.
