Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for using of keywords, categories, patent related publications, and other literature to profile users are provided. Some examples provide a profiling tool which enables users to self-describe using, for example, keywords, patent related publications, and articles. In other examples, the tool assigns search-based profiling information. The profiling tool using citation based patent related search techniques to suggest additional keywords and/or patent publications for augmenting the user's search-based profile information. In some examples, the IP Invention Management System (IPIMS) uses these profiles to distribute workload, for example, to route patent assets to be reviewed or be improved upon as ripe for invention. In addition, other applications may use these profiles to offer other types of matching services, such as social mapping.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for facilitating searching for patent related literature are provided. Some examples provide a Patent Related Publication Search Engine (“PRPSE”), which enables users and or programs through the use of an application programming interface (“API”) to iteratively find patent related publications such as issued patents and patent application publications. In typical operation, based upon input text, the PRPSE determines predominant keywords found in the text and locates a set of patent related publications most closely related to these determined keywords as search results. In some examples, the PRPSE determines the set of patent related publications most closely related to these determined keywords both by full text searching of a corpus of patent related publications for all of the patent related publications that contain the predominant keywords and by finding all correlated patent related publications through citation analysis.

Some examples provide a Search Snapshot Management Engine (“SSME”), which enables users and or programs through the use of an application programming interface (“API”) to define and manipulate search snapshots. In typical operation, an iteration of a search result is associated with a search snapshot history. A rendering of the search snapshot history may be provided to assist in navigation to other potentially related search iterations and to define new search states for performing searches. In some examples, the SSME may be used to provide search histories to teams for reviewing patent related publications and other types of literature.

Examples provide a Dynamic Product Presentation System (“DPPS”), which enables suppliers and/or vendors to advertise and place new or replacement products before consumers according in a new commerce stream and enables potential consumers to interact on a personalized level with products including goods and/or services that may interest them before they buy them, to engage specialized services, return or exchange goods or other things, be presented with products and/or services that are automatically targeted to their buying habits and predicted needs, etc., all in the comfort of their own residence or location without the inconveniences of traditional shopping models or online environments.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for building, maintaining, and/or renovating buildings using reconfigurable, intelligent, and/or communicating components and connectors are provided. These reconfigurable building components and connectors are configured to communicate with each other and with the internal structures and services of a building, using various protocols, for more efficient reconfiguration, management, and maintenance as well as safety. Examples provide a Building Configuration and Management System which provides a set of “smart” components, connectors, and protocols and a Building Control System that connects all internal building structures and services together in ways that allow them to communicate their location, state, and other information to each other and to other entities and to control them, potentially automatically. The BCMS facilitates, among other things, more efficient reconfiguration of these structures and services without demolition.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for discovering information using structured investments in an invention network are provided. Example embodiments provide an investment tool which allows users to invest currency in disclosures, ideas, topics, inventions, patent applications, patents, etc. which they determine will ultimately be successful. In one embodiment, the inventions are organized by schema to enable participants to invest or otherwise participate according to particular aspects. These aspects are typically areas in which the participant has or will have established a reputation for successful results in accordance with some future outcome.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for estimating patent infringement risk for a company using a statistical model of revenue are provided. Examples also provide a Patent Infringement Risk Assessment Tool, which uses these techniques to enable users to dynamically modify certain parameters and obtain a feel for their affect upon patent infringement risk exposure. Other examples describe the applicability of some of the methods and techniques for describing models of overall behavior when only the behavior of a segment at either the low end or high end (a tail) is known.
