  • Patent number: 10123051
Abstract: A method for performing video analytics includes receiving at a source end video data including first video data relating to an event of interest. Using video analytics, other than a data compression process, pre-processing of the video data is performed at the source end to reduce the bandwidth requirement for transmitting the video data to below a bandwidth limit of a Wide Area Network (WAN) over which the video data is to be transmitted. The pre-processed video data is transmitted to a central server via the WAN, where other video analytics processing of the pre-processed video data is performed. Based on a result of the other video analytics processing, a signal is generated for performing a predetermined action, in response to an occurrence of the event of interest at the source end.

  • Patent number: 9667919
Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a peer node, statistical data based on video data and relating to the video data, but other than a video content and an image content of the video data. In particular, the peer node is other than within a trusted group of nodes trusted for accessing the video data. At the peer node, the statistical data is analyzed to identify predetermined patterns therein. Upon identifying a predetermined pattern, a signal is provided to a trusted processor relating to the identified pattern.

  • Patent number: 9538238
Abstract: A method for providing streamed video data from a plurality of sources within a known geographic area includes receiving at a server, via a communication network, first video stream data captured within the known geographic area using a first user device and second video stream data captured within the known geographic area using a second user device. The first video stream data is provided from the server to a display device associated with a user for being viewed by the user. An indication that the second video stream data is available to be viewed in addition to the first video stream data is also provided, from the server to the display device, via the communication network.

  • Patent number: 9143739
Abstract: A method for providing video data for video analytics processing includes capturing a plurality of individual frames of video data, using a video source that is disposed at an acquisition end. A plurality of data-frame-groups is formed, each data-frame-group being associated with a different time period of a plurality of consecutive and non-overlapping time periods. A data-frame-group that is associated with a specific time period comprises individual frames of video data that are captured during that specific time period. Additionally, each data-frame-group comprises relatively fewer individual frames of video data than are captured during the specific time period associated therewith. The plurality of data-frame-groups is transmitted from the acquisition end to a remotely located server via an IP network. In particular, the transmission of successive data-frame-groups is separated one from the other by an interval of time.

  • Patent number: 8885007
Abstract: A method of communicating between a first user and a second user comprises using a first system to transmit, from the first user, a first signal for delivery to the second user. In particular, the first signal is transmitted via a first communication application. At least one of video, audio, and image analytics of electronically sensed data is performed to determine a presence of the second user at a third system. When the second user is determined to be present at the third system, the second user is provided with a first indication indicative of the first signal, the first indication being provided via a pervasive communication application in execution on the third system and other than the first communication application.

  • Patent number: 8860771
Abstract: A method comprise associating a first user system with a first user and associating a second user system with a second user. The first user system is in communication with the second user system via a communication network, and the second user system comprising an electronic sensor having a known sensing area. A request transmitted from the first user system via the communication network is received at the second user system. The request is for initiating a communication session between the first user and the second user. When the second user other than provides a response to the request within a predetermined period of time, data is sensed within the known sensing area using the electronic sensor of the second user system. The sensed data is analyzed. When a result of the analyzing is indicative of the second user being available, a notification signal is transmitted from the second user system to the first user system, via the communication network.

  • Patent number: 8780162
Abstract: A method of locating a first user comprises receiving at a server, via a communication network, video data from a sensor at a predetermined location that is remote from the server. Using a process in execution on a processor of the server, at least one of video analytics, image analytics and audio analytics is performed for determining a presence of the first user at the predetermined location. When a result of the video analytics is indicative of the first user being present at the predetermined location, an indication that the first user is at the predetermined location is retrievably stored within a memory element of the server.
