Patent number: 4844046Abstract: An improved operating mechanism for an air gun is disclosed which features an attenuation element interposed between the operating level and the other elements of the gun. The attenuation element may comprise a single acting gas spring, such that the operating lever is prevented from violent motion returning it to the open position upon release during the closing movement from the open to the closed position, but in which movement of the lever from the open to the closed position is not impeded by the attenuation element.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1988Date of Patent: July 4, 1989Assignee: J. G. Anschutz GmbHInventor: Dieter Straub

Patent number: 4473964Abstract: A recoilless competition rifle or competition pistol with an action which is mounted and guided in the firearm so as to be longitudinally displaceable on bearings and which returns during firing. The bearings have special beddings which compensate for deviations of the bearing axes from their ideal desired positions by adapting their shape to the particular conditions. Bearings made of elastic materials provide for a reversible displacement of material. Beddings comprise materials which can be poured or kneaded and which then solidify in situ to assume their final form as a result of direct shaping (initial shaping) on the delimiting surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1982Date of Patent: October 2, 1984Assignee: J. G. Anschutz GmbHInventors: Dieter Straub, Karl Hoffmann

Patent number: 4300302Abstract: An adjustable pistol grip for a competition rifle or the like having three basic embodiments. In one embodiment, balls and sockets are located in the pistol grip and stock or body of the rifle. The balls and sockets are connected by a rod which is adjustably clamped either by a hydraulic piston, screw ring or expanding ball, in the socket. The connecting rod may be two part, each displaceably clampable relative to the other. Another embodiment employs a flexible wire fixed to the stock and pistol grip. On the wire are perforated balls alternating with short cylinders and a screw or lever which can apply tension to the array to hold the pistol grip required in any position in relation to the stock. Another embodiment employs a universal joint, one member of which is rigidly fixed to the pistol grip or stock, and the other member of which is rigidly fixed to a rod which is adjustably held in a mount supplied with a clamp.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 1979Date of Patent: November 17, 1981Assignee: J. Patent number: 4275521Abstract: An electro-mechanical triggering mechanism for fire arms which comprises a signal receiver used as an input unit which converts a shot-triggering signal generated by the user pulling the trigger into an electrical signal and an electro-mechanical converter which forms an output unit, which unit receives the electrical signal from the input unit and acts on a shot-triggering element to initiate the shot. The improvement consists in that the electro-mechanical converter is an electrically or electro-magnetically deformable piezo-active element which is mechanically connected to the shot-triggering element to initiate the shot. The piezo-active element can be a cantilevered bending bar; a hollow body filled with piezo-active liquid which is capable of moving a piston or elastic membrane; or a bending bar having a series of longitudinally extending bores having electrically conductive walls throughout its middle.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1979Date of Patent: June 30, 1981Assignee: J. Patent number: 4165730Abstract: A spring support tube for the two helical compression springs loading a piston in a compressed air firearm consisting of at least two tube portions freely movable relatively to one another in the axial direction. The portions can be of the same diameter and disposed one behind the other in the annular space between the springs or being in sliding connection with each other. The sliding connection can be either telescopic or in a tongue and slot arrangement.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 1977Date of Patent: August 28, 1979Assignee: J. G. Anschutz GmbHInventors: Ludwig Jaedicke, Dieter Straub

Patent number: 3972143Abstract: A target competition weapon mounting wherein the stock is tensionally connected with the receiver of the weapon is disclosed. The screws of the mounting transmit the tensional force to the stock by means of elastic intermediate elements comprised of cup springs. The cup springs may be alternatively arranged individually in sequence with alternating orientations or arranged in multiple packages of identical orientations which in turn are arranged in alternating sequence.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1975Date of Patent: August 3, 1976Assignee: J. G. Anschutz GmbHInventor: Hermann Wild

Patent number: 3951126Abstract: A compressed gas- or air-operated firearm, comprises a gun stock with a gun sleeve affixed to the gun stock and with a gun barrel having an associated compression cylinder adjacent the inner end thereof with a spring-actuated piston movable therein and an associated trigger mechanism which is movably supported within the gun sleeve by roller bearing structure. A power accumulator is arranged between the relatively movable parts and it biases the parts into a neutral position and includes structure for absorbing the reaction force due to the movement of the piston during operation of the weapon.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1974Date of Patent: April 20, 1976Assignee: J. Patent number: 3950876Abstract: A trigger device for fire arms, particularly for competition fire arms, comprising an intercept latch having a contact surface pivotally connected in a trigger housing and releasably holding a firing element, a pivotally connected trigger latch having a contact surface and holding said intercept latch by its contact surface, a trigger lever, said trigger latch mechanically responsive to said trigger lever, a pivotally connected spring-biased lowering element in said trigger housing having a contact surface which engages the contact surface of said intercept latch and lowers said contact surface of said intercept latch onto the contact surface of said trigger latch so that said contact surface of said intercept latch rests on the contact surface of said trigger latch only just prior to complete actuation of said trigger latch which moves said trigger latch from out of engagement position with said intercept latch whereby said intercept latch is caused to drop out of holding position of said firing element wherType: GrantFiled: March 12, 1974Date of Patent: April 20, 1976Assignee: J.
