Abstract: A well plate assembly including a base plate and vials. The well plate assembly includes a base plate having a bottom, a perimeter having opposing edges, and a plurality of protrusions extending from the bottom spaced apart from each other to form a plurality of compartments sized and configured for releasably holding vials. Each of the compartments includes a convoluted anti-rotation feature recessed into the bottom. The vials each have a bottom wall, a first side wall segment extending upwardly from the bottom wall, and a second side wall segment extending from the first side wall segment to an open top. The first side wall segment includes at least one spline designed to mate with the convoluted anti-rotation feature to prevent rotation of the vials when a torque is applied, for example, during capping or de-capping operations.

Abstract: A two-piece seal vial assembly. The first piece is a vial defining an aperture adapted to contain a liquid. The vial has a base, a crown disposed opposite the base, and an upright side wall extending from the base to the crown and including a tapered inner diameter and a flange located proximate the crown. The second piece is a seal top defining an opening that runs through the length of the seal top. The seal top has a top portion providing a neck finish and, when the seal top and the vial are assembled, a snap groove releasably receiving the flange of the vial and a tapered portion that frictionally engages the tapered inner diameter of the vial. Although not one of the two main components of the assembly, a cap may be included to releasably engage the neck finish of the seal top to close the seal top.

Abstract: A vial plate includes a base plate having protrusions spaced from each other to form compartments for supporting vials and openings which allow the flow of liquids or gases to heat or cool the vials. The vial plate may have a cover and use a multi-tiered structure having one or more spacers which attach to the base plate, each other, or the cover to vary the height of the vial plate for accommodating vials of different sizes. The vial plate does not float in water, can accommodate vials containing volatile solvents, and can support individual vials.

Abstract: A crimp top seal which can be applied to a variety of different containers. Circumferentially displaced points or lines of contact between the crimp top seal and the container at axially displaced positions provide self-alignment and secure retention of the crimp top seal on the container. The resilient crimp top seal includes a top member, a skirt extending down from the perimeter of the top member, angular locking ribs, and a crimp ring--all of which engage the neck finish on the container. A plurality of reinforcing members are also provided on the inner surface of the skirt. The inner diameter of the skirt of the crimp top seal, the angle of the locking ribs, and the crimp ring provides the multiple, axially displaced lines of contact and allow the crimp top seal to engage a variety of containers.
