Abstract: A tool-changing device which is used on machine tools (18). Here, provision is made to carry out positioning of a tool holder (2) in the working position (6) of the tool holder with the aid of the locking element (7) of the drive device (4) of the tool-changing device (1). An adjusting movement (22) of the locking element (7) into the locking position (9) of the locking element on the tool holder (2) that is required for the use of the tool (3) is used to position the tool holder (2) in the working position (6) thereof, by the adjusting movement (2) of the locking element (7) being converted into a positioning movement (21) of the tool holders (2).
Abstract: For a turning machine (1) that can be used for rotary turning, the tool holder (20) is hydrostatically mounted. A method corresponding to this is described, and it is provided to use a hydrostatic bearing (8, 9) for the damping of mechanical vibrations of a tool holder (20) and/or for the permanent mounting of a tool holder (20) of a turning machine (1).

Abstract: A method for setting up a rotary processing machine (1), in which at least one base jaw (4) of a workpiece receptacle is set up to receive a workpiece type that is to be processed and in which the base jaw (4) is coated on a workpiece contact surface (15).
Abstract: A method for machining a workpiece and a lathe are provided, as well a tool head (1) for a lathe (2), having a tool holder (5) retaining a machining tool (3), wherein the tool head (1) has at least one actuator (6) for generating an additional movement of the tool holder (5) in the form of an oscillating pivoting movement about at least one pivot axis (7)
Abstract: A lathe (1) in which the work piece (16) to be lathed with a tool (18) is clamped with the longitudinal axis of the work piece parallel to the rotational axis (29) of the rotating clamping device (15) such that the rotational axis (29) does not intersect the work piece (16), and between two machining steps of the machining process by lathing, a position of the work piece (16) in the clamping device (15) is changed such that surface areas (30, 36) not previously machined are moved into the working area of the tool (18).
Abstract: A device (1) for machining by turning rotationally symmetrical surfaces (18, 20 or 22) of a workpiece (10), which is clamped and has a rotating drive, including a tool (12) having two cutting edges (16) and (17), each having an approximately helical shape, which are disposed one behind the other in the feed direction of the tool (12) such that after the machining by turning with the first cutting edge (16), a roughing edge, the second cutting edge (17), a finishing edge, comes into engagement.
