Patent number: 9322402Abstract: A dove-tail clamp assembly configured to couple a plunger and a pony rod for operation within a fluid end. The clamp assembly using a flange portion extending from the plunger and the pony rod. A clamp within the clamp assembly engages the flanges in the plunger and the pony rod in a non-threaded relationship to permit the pony rod to induce a reciprocating movement of the plunger within the fluid end. The flange portions may be integrally coupled to the plunger and the pony rod in one embodiment. In another embodiment, the flange portions may be threadedly inserted into existing bores in the plunger and the pony rod. The clamp assembly may include a deflector and an alignment pin.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2012Date of Patent: April 26, 2016Assignee: J-Mac Tool, Inc.Inventor: Michael David Marette

Patent number: 8998593Abstract: A fluid end assembly including a pump housing with a number of interior passages for the flow of fluids. The housing has a plunger bore with a closed inner end and an open outer end. A suction passage intersects the plunger bore. A discharge passage intersects both the plunger bore and the suction passage such that the discharge passage, the suction passage, and the plunger bore radiate outwardly from their point of intersection to define a shape resembling a “Y”. A connector passage branches from the discharge passage. An outlet passage intersects the connector passage and passes through the pump housing at right angles to the plunger bore. A reciprocating plunger is located in the plunger bore. A suction valve is located in the suction passage. A discharge valve is located in the discharge passage. A fluid supply manifold is pivotally secured to the housing and is in fluid communication with the suction passage.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2010Date of Patent: April 7, 2015Assignee: J-Mac Tool, Inc.Inventor: Berton L. Publication number: 20140252260Abstract: An actuator stem assembly configured to provide bi-directional movement of a stem in relation to a plug to isolate external forces exerted upon the stem from misaligning the plug. The actuator stem assembly includes a stem, an intermediate slider, and a plug. The stem is configured to slidingly engage the intermediate slider in a manner sufficient to allow translation in a first direction. The intermediate slider is configured to slidingly engage the plug to allow translation of the intermediate slider in a second direction. The first and the second directions are perpendicular to one another, thereby allowing for bi-directional movement of the stem.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2014Publication date: September 11, 2014Applicant: J-Mac Tool, Inc.Inventor: Ross Woods

Publication number: 20140251472Abstract: A bypass valve assembly configured to provide a secondary fluid passage around a valve. The secondary fluid passage includes a regulator device that selectively restricts the fluid flow through the secondary passage. During pressure spikes, the regulator device is configured to open so as to relieve pressure in the system and prevent failure of the valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2014Publication date: September 11, 2014Applicant: J-MAC TOOL, INC.Inventor: Ross Woods

Patent number: 8584700Abstract: A discharge valve including a tubular, valve seat and a valve guide disposed above the valve seat. The valve guide has a discharge passage plug and a guide rod that is affixed to, and projects downwardly from, the bottom of the plug. The valve guide also has an interiorly threaded, lifting sleeve that is affixed to, and projects upwardly from, the top of the plug. A piston is disposed between the valve seat and the valve guide. The piston has a conical, head portion for engaging the top of the valve seat, and a stem portion that is affixed to, and extends upwardly from, the head portion. The stem portion has a longitudinal socket within which the guide rod is slidably received. The stem portion also has a number of apertures that intersect the socket for providing pressure relief to the socket. A compressed spring is disposed between the valve guide and the head portion of the piston for normally retaining the head portion in engagement with the valve seat.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2011Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: J-Mac Tool, Inc.Inventor: Berton L.
