Abstract: The invention relates to the method for obtaining an extract of sandalwood (Santalum album) by extraction using a supercritical fluid and a co-solvent chosen from primary or secondary alcohols. The invention also relates to a crude extract of sandalwood comprising from 10 to 70% of volatile compounds and from 30 to 90% of semi- to non-volatile compounds.
Abstract: Methods for decreasing harmful effects of blue light on skin are disclosed that include topically administering to a subject in need thereof a composition of an effective quantity of a purified, enzymatic hydrolysate of Theobroma cacao L. beans comprising peptides and saccharides having a molecular weight between 200 Da and 10 kDa in a physiologically acceptable medium. The hydrolysate of Theobroma cacao L. beans is present in the composition at a concentration from 0.001 to 20% with respect to the total weight of the composition. The composition can be a cosmetic composition.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for obtaining a Marsdenia cundurango extract containing terpinyl cinnamate compounds, the Marsdenia cundurango bark or wood extracts comprising terpinyl cinnamate compounds obtained by the method, cosmetic compositions comprising them, and the cosmetic uses of same for improving the barrier function of the skin, for improving protection against toxins and detoxification of the skin, and finally for reducing the signs of ageing.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for obtaining an extract of patchouli leaves comprising a supercritical carbon dioxide extraction and a co-solvent such as ethanol. The invention also relates to a patchouli extract obtainable by the method of the invention, a composition comprising such an extract, and the cosmetic use of a composition according to the invention for care of the skin, the scalp and the appendages.

Abstract: The invention relates to a hydroalcoholic extract of the aerial parts of Schinus molle. The invention is characterised in that it comprises predominantly quercitrin and miquelianin among the extracted polyphenols, in a concentration, respectively, of at least 0.04% of quercitrin by weight of the total weight of the extract, and of at least 0.02% of miquelianin by weight of the total weight of the extract, the other extracted polyphenols, considered independently of one another, being present in trace form. The invention also relates to a method for preparing an extract of Schinus molle according to the invention and to cosmetic compositions comprising an effective amount of the extract according to the invention as protective active agent, and the cosmetic use of such compositions to improve the barrier function of the skin and to protect the skin against atmospheric pollutants.

Abstract: The invention relates to a peptide and saccharide hydrolysate of Theobroma cacao L. (cocoa) beans, to a method for preparing same, to cosmetic compositions containing same, and to cosmetic uses thereof particularly for protecting skin from blue light and/or for combatting the appearance of signs of aging and photoaging of the skin.
Abstract: A pulp and skin extract from dried, seed-free Myrciaria dubia fruit. The Myrciaria dubia fruit has a maturity of at least 70%, a soluble solids/acidity ratio between 2.5 and 3, and it is rich in organic acids. The extract is obtained by solid-liquid extraction in a hydro-polyalcohol solvent selected from a hydro-glycerol and/or hydro-gylcolic solvent under conventional agitation or with ultrasound. The extract is an active in cosmetic compositions, which reduce the signs of skin fatigue.
