  • Patent number: 8741458
Abstract: A battery assembly includes a sealed battery cell container holds a positive and negative electrode and an electrolyte. Deflection-responsive means engages at least one outer face of the container and is responsive to deflection thereof for operating a cut-off switch to break the electrical continuity of the battery assembly. Flat battery cell containers may be stacked in different arrangements within a coupling structure, the arrangements defining either a cavity between the coupling structure and an adjacent container face, or a cavity between faces of adjacent cell containers. A membrane switch received in the cavity is actuated by bulging of a cell container wall. A control circuit operates the cut-off switch in response to actuation of the membrane switch.

  • Patent number: 8734276
Abstract: A transforming dart mechanism is described. The transforming dart mechanism includes an inner collar and an outer collar. A dart body is positioned through the inner collar, while fins are pivotally attached with the outer collar. A deployable canopy is affixed with the fins. Thus, in operation, a user can position the fins and deployable canopy against the dart body in a collapsed state. When in the collapsed state, a user can shoot the toy dart horn a to dart gun and upon contacting a target, the fins and deployable canopy expand into an expanded state.

  • Patent number: 8726894
Abstract: An air-powered toy gun is described. The toy gun includes a main housing with a barrel extending therefrom. The main housing is formed to accept a projectile cartridge and align a bullet chamber of the cartridge with the barrel. An air cylinder is attached with the main housing, with a two-way plunger positioned within the air cylinder. A forestock is slidably attached with the housing and attached with the two-way plunger to allow the two-way plunger to be forced fore and aft within the air cylinder. Conduits and valves are attached with the air cylinder to fluidly connect the air cylinder with the bullet chamber of the cartridge. Further, an indexing mechanism is attached with the main housing. The indexing mechanism is operably connected with the forsestock such that upon each fore and aft motion of the forestock, the indexing mechanism draws a cartridge through the main housing.

  • Patent number: 8721460
Abstract: The present invention relates to a toy gun capable of transmitting a laser beam and/or an infrared (“IR”) beam of light for use in a game. The toy gun also has a detector for detecting a laser and IR signal. A controller within the gun tracks the number of shots fired, the type of light beam fired, the number of hits received by other guns, and permits the user to alternate between firing an IR beam or laser beam. The toy gun also has unique features available through the use of lasers, including detecting the distance to a target. The present invention further relates to an interactive electronic targeting system for use with a toy laser gun. The targeting system includes an electronic multi-colored backlit board with light detecting sensors positioned within the board. The targeting system is programmed with multiple interactive games for use with a toy gun.

Abstract: An air-powered toy gun is described. The toy gun includes a housing with a barrel. A cartridge slot is formed in the housing to accept a projectile cartridge and align a bullet chamber of the cartridge with the barrel. An air cylinder is attached with the housing. A dual slide unit is slideably attached with the housing, the dual slide unit having a plunger positioned within the air cylinder. Further, a pull back handle is attached with the dual slide unit to allow a user to draw the plunger from the air cylinder. Finally, conduits are attached with the air cylinder to connect the air cylinder with the bullet chamber of a cartridge. Thus, a user can draw the plunger from the air cylinder and release the pull back handle to shoot a projectile from the toy gun.

  • Patent number: 8689480
Abstract: A collapsing trap is described. The collapsing trap includes a base and a plurality of surrounding panels pivotally attached with the base. An outer panel is attached with one of the surrounding panels. A locking mechanism is attached with the surrounding panels to selectively hold the panels in an open configuration. A trigger is operably connected with the locking mechanism. The locking mechanism includes a locking pivot that is attached with the base and connected with the trigger. The locking pivot is adapted to rotate and lock onto each of the surrounding panels to hold the surrounding panels in an open and substantially planar configuration. When the locking pivot is activated by the trigger, the locking pivot rotates to release the surrounding panels and cause the surrounding panels (and outer panel) to collapse up and around the base to trap the item therein.

  • Patent number: 8584589
Abstract: A dehydrated, pulp-based projectile is described. The projectile is pulp material that is molded and dehydrated into a projectile shape to form the dehydrated, pulp-based projectile. In operation, the pulp-based projectile can be positioned within the bullet chamber (e.g., gun clip) of a toy gun and then rehydrated. For example, the toy gun or bullet chamber can be dipped in water, which would cause the projectile to absorb the water and soften. An advantage to being pulp based is that the projectile is more solid than foam and, as such, generally shoots straighter and further than foam. However, when rehydrated, the projectile has the propensity to stick to its target as it becomes pliable and sticky through rehydration.

  • Patent number: 8579674
Abstract: A mobile toy which is propelled by a flywheel is described. The mobile toy includes a body member having a set of protrusions which extend beyond the body member. An axle extending through the flywheel is positioned in the set of protrusions, such that each protrusion operates as an axle cap. Alternatively, a set of axle caps are formed at the end of the axle. The flywheel is formed as a displaceable flywheel which is repositionable or removable from the body member. The flywheel may be adjusted within the mobile toy at multiple positions relative to the mobile toy for use of the mobile toy on multiple types of surfaces and for various play configurations. A set of detachably attachable extension elements attached with the axle caps alter the appearance as well as the play capabilities of the mobile toy.

  • Patent number: 8562386
Abstract: A mobile skateboard-shaped toy which is propelled by a displaceable flywheel is described. The skateboard-shaped toy comprises a skateboard deck with the flywheel positioned within the skateboard deck. The flywheel is positioned such that the flywheel protrudes beyond a top portion and a bottom portion of the skateboard deck. The flywheel is rotatable within the skateboard deck to change a rotational direction of the flywheel with respect to a major axis of the skateboard deck. Additionally, the flywheel can be repositioned at different ride heights within the skateboard deck. In one aspect, the flywheel is removable from the skateboard deck to allow the flywheel to be easily repositioned within the skateboard deck or replaced with another flywheel.

Abstract: A figurine launcher is described. The figurine launcher includes at least two shell components. The shell components are hingedly attached with one another to move between an open position and a closed position. An open mechanism is attached with at least one of the shell components and is adapted to allow a user to selectively separate the shell components when in the closed position. A launch positioning mechanism is attached with at least one of the shell components. The launch positioning mechanism is adapted to engage with a figurine and conceal the figurine within the housing when the shell components are in a closed position. Alternatively, when the shell components are in an open position, the launch positioning mechanism is adapted to move the figurine into a launch position. When in the launch position, the user can compress the shell components to force the figurine from the launcher.

Abstract: A winged toy is described. The winged toy includes a wing mechanism and a doll. The wing mechanism includes a first wing arm and a second wing arm (each with wings). Each of the two wing arms are connected with one another via gears to allow the wings to flap in unison. The gears include teeth that are engaged with one another such that rotation of one gear causes the other gear to rotate at an equal rate and in a direction opposite to that of the first gear, thereby causing the wings to flap in unison. Additionally, the wing mechanism includes a plug having a distinct pattern. Finally, the doll has a rear side with a receptacle. The receptacle is formed in a distinct pattern that matches the distinct pattern of the plug, thereby allowing a user to selectively plug the wing mechanism into the doll.
