  • Patent number: 5418983
Abstract: A changeable sink strainer in a drain opening of a sink has a strainer body installed between the sink and a waste pipe. A threaded receiver including a flanged nut is mounted within and at a lower end of the strainer body. A decorative insert is removably disposed within the strainer body. A hollow securing element, e.g. a screw or bolt, removably engages a lower end of the decorative insert within the strainer body and threadably engages the threaded receiver to removably secure the decorative insert to the strainer body. A basket strainer with a depending stem retains the basket strainer within the strainer body. The stem has a retractable element for removably retaining the stem in the hollow securing element.

  • Patent number: 4134420
Abstract: A faucet valve for kitchen sinks, bathroom washbasins and like applications, said faucet valve being adapted to be made of molded plastics, having relatively few operative parts, and designed to minimize the stresses of assembly and use. The invention has two principal features: the first is the use of a ratchet interlock between the bonnet of the valve and the cover plate of the sink or washbasin, said interlock being oriented to allow the bonnet to be rotated in one direction relative to the valve body in order to thread the bonnet into engagement with the valve body, and to prevent the bonnet from rotating in the opposite direction relative to the valve body when the valve is in use; and the second is the use of a self-centering valve closure member in the form of a spherical ball mounted within a spherical socket with sufficient clearance between them to enable the ball to float relative to the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 3946870
Abstract: Collapse-resistant paperbox packaging for small articles, comprising an outer paperbox shell and an inner corrugated paperboard sleeve removably encased within said paperbox shell, said corrugated paperboard sleeve having a transparent plastic skin laminated thereto with an article secured between them, and said corrugated paperboard sleeve having upwardly extending flanges which juxtapose side panels in the paperbox shell. The corrugated paperboard sleeve reinforces the paperbox shell and combines with it to provide a strong box construction highly resistant to collapsing. A window is provided in the paperbox shell so that the article may be exposed to view through said window and through the transparent plastic skin.
