    Abstract: A mechanism is provided for crushing and grinding cremated remains and includes a vertical cylindrical housing, a stationary bearing plate positioned transversely across the shaft defined within the housing, and a rotatable perforated grinding disk. The weight of the bearing plate crushes the crematory ashes as the grinding disk rotates, and the ground cremation remains fall through apertures in the grinding disk into a funnel for collection in an urn positioned below.
