    Abstract: A drink-thru lid for a drinking cup including an annular mounting portion for sealingly engaging the drinking cup, wherein the annular mounting portion includes a downwardly extending annular skirt. The lid further includes a tear-back section extending from the annular skirt to a hinge portion located in a medial portion of the lid. The tear-back section includes a raised protrusion extending outwardly from an upper surface of the lid. A recess is further formed in a medial portion of the lid on the opposite side of the hinge portion from the raised protrusion, wherein the tear-back section may be torn away from the lid on its sides and pivoted about the hinge portion until the raised protrusion is received within the recess for holding said pivotal flap open. The raised protrusion and the recess are shaped such that the raised protrusion is frictionally engaged by the end walls of the recess.

A pair of coreless roll spindles are mounted within the dispenser in axial alignment with one another and with the partition opening. The partition opening alternately receives the coreless roll spindles when the cover moves between the two positions. The disclosed apparatus can be used to retrofit an existing dispenser normally employed to sequentially dispense toilet tissue from two adjacent rolls of toilet tissue having cores.

    Abstract: A thin walled lid formed of a thermoplastic material having a generally circular center portion and an outer rim portion which fits over the cup bead and includes an integral peripheral skirt which makes up the outer side wall of the lid is disclosed. Located between the rim portion and the center portion is a recess or annular trough with an inner wall and an outer wall. The outer wall is separated into two shelves and three vertical sections. The lower shelf serves as a receiver ring upon which the lid above rests. The short vertical section located above the receiver ring effectively prevents any lateral movement of the lid above, while the lowest wall section forms the stacking ring and generally has a negative slope toward the lid skirt. Spaced periodically around the circumference of the stacking ring are positive draft flutes which have a positive slope away from the skirt and toward the center of the lid. The recess has a generally flat bottom which connects the stacking ring to the inner wall.

As the fabric sheet conveys the paper web around the first rotatable drum, a drying air is applied to the paper web in a direction from the inner perimeter of the first rotatable drum toward the outer perimeter of the first rotatable drum, further passing through the paper web. As the fabric sheet and paper web proceed around the second rotatable drum, a drying air is applied to the paper web in a direction from the outer perimeter of the second rotatable drum toward the inner perimeter of the second rotatable drum, further passing through the paper web in a similar direction.

    Abstract: An RF EAS tag includes a substrate with a conductive element positioned on a face surface thereof and having electrically inductive properties. A capacitive element is positioned on the face surface and has electrically capacitive properties wherein the inductive and capacitive elements are operably coupled together to form a resonant circuit which resonates when an electrical signal of a predetermined resonant frequency is applied to the tag. The capacitive element comprises a dielectric ink substance having a high dielectric constant for producing the desired resonant circuit on a single face surface of the substrate. An alternative tag comprises a substrate with a conductive layer positioned thereon and a gap formed in the conductive layer exposing a portion of the substrate. This forms a slotline waveguide shorted at both ends. A high dielectric constant ink substance is then deposited in the slot.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for pinch perforating multi-ply web material to increase the perforation ply bond and/or perforation ply bond retention by pinching the multiple plies of web material together and then perforating the material using an anvil and perforator blade design provided on a perforating apparatus. Specifically, the apparatus comprises a roll mounted contoured perforator blade which cooperates with a beveled anvil to produce perforation ply bonds perpendicular to the length of the multiple plies of web material. The desired anvil/perforator blade interface angle between 0.degree. and 20.degree. is provided by beveling the anvil. A 15.degree. beveled anvil is preferred to provide a 5.degree. anvil/perforator blade interface angle. By pinching and bonding the leading edges and other predetermined points of the multi-ply tissue paper together before cutting, the likelihood of ply separation, missing plies and ply mismatch is greatly reduced.
