    Abstract: A connector comprises a receiving portion, a housing and an actuator. The housing has a lock portion protruding upward and a recess formed with a bottom portion. The actuator has a pressing portion. The actuator is supported by the housing so as to be pivotable between an open position and a close position. When the actuator is located at the open position, a plate-like or sheet-like object comprising an interposed portion and a locked portion, for example, a Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC), is inserted and received in the receiving portion. When the object is received in the receiving portion, the interposed portion is located above the recess, and the locked portion is located rearward of the lock portion. The pressing portion and the bottom portion interpose the interposed portion of the object when the actuator pivots from the open position to the close position.

    Abstract: A USB connector comprises a special USB plug and a USB receptacle mateable with the special USB plug. The special USB plug has a plug ground contact and a plug contact portion as a part of the plug ground contact. The USB receptacle has a plurality of contacts including a ground contact, a detector and a holding member. Each of the contacts has a contact point. Especially the ground contacts has the contact point configured to be brought into contact with the plug ground contact while the detector has a detecting portion configured to be brought into contact with the plug contact portion. The holding member has a plate portion formed with a principal surface. The holding member holds the contacts so that the contact points project from the principal surface of the plate portion while holding the detector so that the detecting portion projects from the principal surface of the plate portion.

The connector comprises a shell having a body portion and two fixed portions for fixing the body portion to the object. The body portion has two side portions and an upper portion coupling the side portions with each other in a lateral direction. The side portions are connected to the respective fixed portions. The fixed portion has a base portion and a strengthener. The base portion is located outward of the side portion in the lateral direction. The strengthener extends inward in the lateral direction from the base portion beyond the side portion.

    Abstract: To provide a connector which is capable of reducing the possibility that a cover is removed due to a cause other than an operation of removing a card when the cover is in a locked position, even if a height of the connector is reduced. A cover 7 which covers an upper surface of an IC card 21 accommodated in an accommodating section 33 of a housing 3 is pivotally mounted on the housing. The cover 7 is formed by a cover main body 71 which is opposed to the upper surface of the IC card 21 accommodated in the housing 3, arm portions 74 and 74 which are connected to the cover main body 71, shaft portions 75 and 75 which are connected to the arm portions 74 and 74, respectively, and are pivotally supported by respective slots 321a formed in respective side plates 312 of the housing 3. The arm portions 74 and 74 are capable of being elastically deformed, and being brought into contact with opposite sides of the IC card 21 accommodated in the housing 3.
