Abstract: Shredded tobacco of the invention is treated with metal iodate. A method of treating tobacco of the present invention includes adding metal iodate to shredded tobacco to decompose tobacco specific nitrosamines and polyphenols in the shredded tobacco, thereby reducing the TSNAs and polyphenols.
Abstract: An antibody against AILIM (alternatively called JTT-1 antigen, JTT-2 antigen, ICOS and 8F4) was found to have a significant therapeutic effect on arthrosis, for example, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, graft versus host disease, graft immune rejection, inflammation (hepatitis and inflammatory bowel diseases), diseased condition accompanied by the excessive production of an antibody against a foreign antigen triggered by immunological sensitization by the antigen.
Abstract: A non-combustion flavor inhalation article includes a heating device including a heater to be heated to a temperature between 80 and 140° C., and a roll including a tobacco sheet to be disposed in contact with the heater.
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel ?-galactoside-?2,6-sialyltransferase having high productivity and/or high activity, and a nucleic acid encoding the sialyltransferase. The present invention also provides a microorganism producing the sialyltransferase. The present invention further provides a vector carrying a nucleic acid encoding the sialyltransferase, and a host cell transformed with the vector, as well as a method for producing a recombinant ?-galactoside-?2,6-sialyltransferase.
Abstract: The present invention aims at provision of a method for inhibiting remnant lipoprotein production and a remnant lipoprotein production inhibitor, which includes administering a compound having a CETP inhibitory activity to an administration subject. The remnant lipoprotein production inhibitor of the present invention contains a compound having a CETP inhibitory activity as an active ingredient.
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to search and identify novel antifungal proteins capable of inhibiting the growth of plant pathogenic microorganisms including Magnaporthe grisea and Rhizoctonia solani causing two major rice diseases at relatively low concentrations, and further to clone a gene for said protein. The present invention provides an antifungal protein which can be obtained from fraction(s) precipitated by ammonium sulfate precipitation using an aqueous extract from Pleurotus cornucopiae, wherein said protein has an antifungal activity against at least rice blast, and exhibits existence of a component having a molecular weight of about 15 kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE method; a gene encoding said protein and uses thereof.
Abstract: Immunization of human antibody-producing transgenic mice, which have been created using genetic engineering techniques, with AILIM molecule as an antigen resulted in various human monoclonal antibodies capable of binding to AILIM and capable of controlling a variety of biological reactions (for example, cell proliferation, cytokine production, immune cytolysis, cell death, induction of ADCC, etc.) associated with AILIM-mediated costimulatory signal (secondary signal) transduction. Furthermore, it has been revealed that the human monoclonal antibody is effective to treat and prevent various diseases associated with AILIM-mediated costimulatory signal transduction, being capable of inhibiting the onset and/or advancement of the diseases.

Abstract: The necessary number of delivery routes is accurately calculated corresponding to properties of an area. A system 100 for calculating the number of delivery routes calculates the necessary number of delivery routes when creating a plurality of delivery routes on which a staff delivers articles sequentially from a base to respective circular-visiting points in an area including the base and the circular-visiting points and returns to the base. A first average value calculating unit 310 calculates average value D of round-trip travel time between the base and the respective circular-visiting points, considering only circular-visiting points where round-trip travel time between the base and respective circular-visiting point amount to a predetermined rate or less when respective round-trip travel time are selected in order of increasing time, with the exception of the other circular-visiting points.

Abstract: In a cigarette display system 1000, a plurality of wall units 500 can be linked in an vertical direction, and tray units 200 can be arranged in desired positions on a front surface of the wall units 500. Each of the tray units 200 can hold a plurality of magazine units 100 arranged in a lateral direction, and each of the magazine units 100 can hold a plurality of cigarette packs T arranged in a direction from front to back. Accordingly, it is possible to freely change a layout in which the cigarette packs T are arranged and displayed in the vertical and lateral directions so that cigarette cartons K or the like having a shape which cannot be accommodated in the magazine unit 100 can be displayed as well. As described above, the present invention provides the cigarette display system 1000 having a structure in which the layout of the cigarette packs T to be displayed or the like can be changed in various forms.
